Conzemius/Farke's at Pleasant Ridge
Jim: Hi, I am a great grandson of Fred and Anna. I was wondering do you have a copy of the family picture,(Michael Conzemius)? I think I also have some wedding photos that I could send you in e-mail if you like. A complete list of who is in the cemetery is online, with plot locations, no dates, but it does list some other Farke's that I am not familiar with....if you are interested let me know I would be happy to send them...DC

RE: Old Gravestones
Hi James,

Well since you asked, there are a few headstones in Burr Oak that I suspect are truly there but beneath the grass surface. How do you feel about a little digging? :)

I'd honestly do it myself but believe it or not, I live in California and have never set foot in the state of Iowa. I took on the Winneshiek County project years ago as, primarily Burr Oak, as many of my relatives were the original founders of the area. I think I'm somehow related to more resting in that cemetery than not!

I'm truly not trying to sucker you in to a dirty back-breaking job though if you happen to find yourself nearby again, all photos and/or unearthed artifacts are greatly appreciated.

Burr Oak Cemetery
Hi again Jim,

THANK YOU very much for the photos taken in Burr Oak Cemetery. Each one helps are cemetery overhaul project immensely, as well as, rewarding many generations in preserving our history.

I did email you directly noting a posting error of one headstone photo.

Again, MUCH appreciation,

RE: Old Gravestones
Hi Jim,

Thank you for the information of Burr Oak Cemetery. I've been working on this project for about 3 years now; and making further headway each day. Its wonderful to know that you reside so close... Perhaps you are available to assist with our project?
