RE: WHITE FAMILY
Hi Karen,

I have no relation to anyone in the Iola cemetery (actually any of the local cemeteries). I am more than happy to transfer any relatives to you.

Please use the edit feature on the memorial page to make the request. This helps me make sure I get all the right people to you.

Thanks!
Vicki

RE: WHITE FAMILY
Karen,

We aren't related. I had taken pictures of headstones at local cemeteries. If they weren't listed, I added them and the pictures. I am more than happy to transfer these to you if you submit their memorial through the EDIT link. Please make sure to provide your member number.

Thanks!

Vicki

RE: Joseph Vincent Kelly
Hi Karen and Mom-

That 1946 wedding was when my Dad and Mom got married. You are right, my Dad's name is Joe- Joseph Vincent Kelly Jr. He is still alive- 88 years old! He also had a sister, Olive Anne Kelly Merrill. She died about 4 years ago at 78 of breast cancer. There are four children in my family, Me, my brother Rick, and sisters Liz and Cathy. My Aunt had just one daughter, Jill Merrill.

My husband Mike and I visited Aunt Rie in 1976 and had a wonderful time seeing her in Philadelphia. She was having a hard time walking then, she was afraid of getting the hip replacement surgery, but you probably remember that. Aunt Rie told me that when Joe Sr. was dying, he wanted to see my Dad one last time. Aunt Rie felt a lot of regret because she never told my Dad. It was the same time that Mike and I got married and she didn't want to ruin the wedding or something like that- how sad that she didn't tell him, I am sure he would have gone to see him- especially since he died a couple of months after the wedding, and there was plenty of time! I guess she did the best she could. I am really glad that Aunt Rie didn't die alone, she was a lovely person and I was very fond of her.

I'm looking forward to hearing more from you all, it's so exciting that we have found each other! I am very glad that Joe Sr. seems to have moved on to a happy life! Peace, Ellen

....So you must have known Marie Kelly too- she was my Great Aunt Rie, and I knew her very well- she was always in contact with my family.

RE: Joseph Vincent Kelly
Wow, that's amazing! Joseph V. Kelly was my Grandfather. My Grandmother was his first wife, Olive Little Kelly. Is your Grandmother his second wife? I never met him, and none of us knew where he went or what happened to him after they got a divorce. The last time my Dad saw him was at his wedding in 1946.

Thanks for writing- I would really like to hear more from you, I would love to find out how the rest of his life was!

Peace, Ellen Kelly Linn
