Karen Parker Galvin; I have been researching my family ancestry for the past 30 years. Now that I am a retired RN, I devote more time to genealogy and have networked with some other genie enthusiasts in helping people to search their roots. Families of interest include Parker, Anger, Thews, Long, Platts, Whitney, Pierce to name a few. I am a member of ancestry.com and have been contributing/participating with findagrave.com for the past few years. Recently started Parker Family Newsletter with a core group of Parker "cousins". I live in MN and winter in AZ. karen parker-galvin, direct descendant of Capt. James Parker 1617 England 1701 Groton, MA|

Thank you for all of your contributions to this site. I'm very new here and am just starting my research into my grandmother's family, the deRochers, a direct descendant of Ruel Parker (s/o Samuel Parker and Hannah Platts Parker). I've always been interested in our family history and came across some old papers that my mother and aunt had of my grandmother. (Doris Adele deRocher Mulligan). Thank you again and I'm sure our paths will cross again soon.

I have transferred your aunt to you. I don't know about her husband, other than I have photographed the entire section C and he is not in that section. If you call the cemetery and he is in another section I'd be happy to get a photo for you. They don't give info to non family members.
|John Clay Harris||Hi Karen|
I made a notation about Emily Hatch's maiden name and her married name of Tenney on the Vermont record of her marriage to Raul(I saw the comment you made on Ancestery.com)
I saw the close up of the grave monument of Emily Parker which shows her name well.I was wondering if you had gotten a close up of Raul's side of the Monument? If so it would be great to post that as well.
Hope your doing well and had a nice holiday. John

Hi Karen,So glad you liked the pictures of, Captain Jackson Van-Buren Parker that I added to his memorial.I obtained them from the Vermont Historical Society on my recent visit there.
Laura Kelsey Clark ,Jackson's mother in law was my 3rd great Grand Aunt.Laura's sister,Pasiphae Jane Kelsey was my 3rd Great Grandmother.I hope you approve of the Bio that I wrote about Jackson and the part in the letters I referenced about Jackson writing home to his wife,Julia during the war?.I thought this part about their young son's hand print was so touching on a personal level.It's so great that you have those letters.Let me know if there is something else you would like me to add of notable mention that I might have missed.
I have an old letter written in 1873 by Laura Kelsey Clark's sister,Pasiphae Jane Kelsey Howe(My 3rd great grandmother) in which she mentions her niece,Julia and how in 1873, after Jackson's death, she was doing well as a teacher of music with sixteen paying pupils under her direction.I mention this at the end of Jackson's Bio.
Please know that I also cleaned the grave stones of Jackson his wife Julia there son Jonnie and Julia's mother Laura Kelsey Clark at Pine Hill Cemetery this past summer.
Do you happen to know where Jackson and Julia's son ,Ruel Laccom Parker b Mar 18,1869,d Nov 3,1952 was buried? His death Certifacate says he Died in Waterbury,VT at the Vermont State Hospital(no place of Burial is given)
