RE: Find A Grave Memorial# 51964369
No I am not related to James Ward. I went through the whole Grey Mountain Cemetery a few years ago, photographing all gravestones and creating memorials on Find-A-Grave for any not already there as well as posting the photos.

I do have a small amount of Wards in my tree though, but not Daniel D Ward nor anyone likely to be closely related to him.

A quick search on WorldConnect brought me to this record which looks like a good match. It says Daniel Dimmitt Ward, born 1804 in Prince Edward Island, Canada. There are multiple possible parents listed there but the mother's maiden name appears to be DeWolf. Dimmitt may have been her first married name. It's not definite but there are links to the various possible parents so there may be enough there to confirm or eliminate those choices. It also lists his wife and their children, so that should at least make it possible to confirm if this is your person of interest. Hope this helps.

My connection to this family is VERY distant. Retta Holycross marriage # 3 was William Nelson Curl. His father was John Curl, whose first wife was Mary McVay, sister of my 2nd great grandmother, but she died young and was not William's mother.

I don't know anything else about the family.

RE: Harper and Walker families

I have already photographed all of the headstones at All Saints Holme on Spalding Moor and uploaded the ones I could read on to here but there were no Harpers. East Cottingwith is about 9 miles by car from Holme on Spalding Moor and 15 miles from where I live so when I get the chance and when the weather is ok I will take a look up there. I have never heard of Collingworth so it could be a transcription error. I will also look in my local library to see if they have the burial records for either of these places.

RE: william ward, sr
I am sorry for my delay in getting back to you. After checking my records, I am not able to find the person you are looking for. I have several “William Ward’s” in my tree. The first William Ward I have, so far, was born in 1603 in Gloucestershire, England and died 1687 in Marlboro, Essex County Massachusetts. My Ward family line is mainly in the New England area, not that far from Prince Edward Island. It very well could be that one of William Ward’s children or a grandchild moved to Prince Edward Island, married and raised a family there. I have seen a lot of people site William Ward, Sr. but there are other William Ward’s that came before “Sr.”. I try to reference names that are passed down through generations with a birth/death year date to keep them in order, just a thought. All the best in your search… Karen
