RE: THANK YOU SO VERY, VERY MUCH!!!!
Jeannie, I had the pleasure of meeting your brother, Tim Halferty, who must be the man in charge of Newton Union Cemetery. He was surprised when I asked him for the Block for Melba, who he said was his mother, and when I said you were the requestor, his sister. He took me right to the spot. He had "plowed" a special path thru the snow, which has mostly melted. Since you had posted your request twice, I think you still have the same request for later still on the list. I suppose you should now remove that if you haven't already.
Tim is very helpful. I hope the photos are satisfactory as the sky this time of year isn't the best for photography. Merry Christmas,

RE: THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!
I found it. Lois & Enos McConnell. Poor grave needs some tender loving care. Could have used a hair cut. I did about 100 that day and did not go there with any plans on doing grave care. I sometimes do but there were 55 requests and I thought I would clean up the requests. That was some day. We first visited with Wallace Funeral home. What a nice man Gary was. He was just finishing up with a funeral and still took time (at lest one hour) to help us in locating all the requests. Linda

What are the name of your relatives? I could send the original if I still have them. Linda

RE: THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!!
I am just sorry that the tombstone you requested is in such bad shape. This cemetery is in general poor condition, with many monuments fallen or broken.

Thanks for looking
Jeannie thanks for looking at Lakeland Memorial Gardens for Alexander & Bulah Huling. Her obituary said she was at Lakeland but she must of been at their Funeral Home and not buryed there. Do you know if St. Stephen's Church in Lakeland has a cemetery or not? She went to church there and they my be bury there. Thanks again and i'm sorry for senting you on a wild goose chase.

RE: Thank YOU Again!!!
Hi Jennie,
Going out to Fort Palmer twice was easy because it doesn't take us long to get there. I'm just glad that we found the Halferty stones. There is a gal named Bonnie Chesla who has been doing a lot of work in findagrave for Fort Palmer and I think her brother helps to maintain the cemetery, or at least does the mowing. She has talked to me about restoration of some of the stones, but I believe that she is in Florida right now. Maybe this next summer we can see about helping her and getting Margaret's stone (and others) re-set. If you do get to the Ligonier area to visit sometime, I'd love to meet you! Thanks again for your nice notes!

RE: THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF OUR HEARTS!!!
Hi Jeannie,
You are so welcome for the photos and I'm so glad that I could help. I think your thank you is the nicest one I've ever received! It definitely makes our effort worthwhile! We went out to Fort Palmer twice, the first time we didn't find the stones. Luckily Fort Palmer isn't far from where we live and the 2nd trip paid off. Margaret's headstone was upside down and leaning against Edward's stone. I hope that someone can re-set the stone where it belongs, next to Edward. The stones are pretty worn and we had to use a little white chalk to make the inscription more clear. I hope you do get a chance to visit our area someday! If there is anything else that we can do to help, let me know!

You're welcome Jeannie. Glad I could help. It's a beautiful cemetery with awesome landscaping and huge trees everywhere.

RE: THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!
You are so welcome! It was a delight to find it on such a sunny day this time of year. When I took the photo, I was thinking, Jeannie is so going to like this photo, to find the stone and in such good shape, it's beautiful!
I'm so pleased I could be of assistance, it made my holiday just a supurb day.
Love and best wishes,
SanDee
