Thanks much for the excellent photo for Clarissa (Clairicy) grave marker. I would love to have the group, etc. you mentioned. You could send it to my email address at: firstname.lastname@example.org.
|David L. McMonigle||RE: Evaline Beanblossom stone|
Evaline's father spelled his surname "Beanblossom" when he left Harrison County, Indiana for Iowa. However, the surname gradually evolved in spelling to "Beenblossom" and "Beemblossom" even in the same family. Some become defacto legal surnames from common usage and preference. For example, Nelson's grave marker shows "Beanblossom" while his obituary and published history shows "Beenblossom." This is one of those evolving Americanized names that creates confusion among researchers. Several old German surnames of Harrison County, Indiana have undergone several spelling variations.

Thanks much for finding the broken grave marker for Evaline Beenblossom that has been overlooked by other photographers in the past. Do you interpret the age at death engraved on the stone as 10Y, 1M, 12D? If you do, I can calculate a fairly precise birth date from this information. I currently show 1843 on the marker.
Also, you accidentally uploaded two duplicate photos of her marker.
Thanks again for your great find.
