RE: Pawlowski graves St Stainslaus grave photo
In regards to finding your relatives I would sit down and call St Stanislaus and other cemeteries in Dunkirk to see if you can locate them. Actually if you know the exact date of death all you have to do is get their death certificate and the cemetery is always listed. Don't get frustrated cuz you may have to call more than one town hall because it depends if they were in a nursing home located in a different town than where they lived. Good Luck,Barb

RE: Pawlowski graves St Stainslaus grave photo
Thank you I put the two photos together. The stone was visible and listed under Mary and sister Anna Pawlowski. I am indexing the entire cemetery so eventually I will have a list of all your relatives buried at St Stans. Barb

I'm a Newman descendant. We are apparently cousins. Joseph Merican Newman and Jane Thomas Newman were my great, great grandparents. I am descended from his son Richard Thomas Newman and Richard's wife Nettie Marie Walter through their only son and oldest child Joseph Earl Newman. He was my maternal grandfather. :) Feel free to contact me if you would ike at I also have information on this family on my Horstead Family Tree on

RE: J P Ward d. 1864 correction
This is a Civil War grave of a soldier in Marietta National Cemetery. Thanks for pointing out the note. Looks like the admins corrected this.

This man was Jones P Ward. A Soldier in the 31st Iowa Infantry in the Union Army in the Civil War.

Hope this helps.

You're so very welcome. I happened to be at that cemetery yesterday photographing some of my relatives so I happened to take a photo of that headstone, just to check in case there wasn't was listed on findagrave. My pleasure.

RE: burial sites NC mentally ill
I don't find him in the NC death certificates. But I do see a listing in the Social Security Death Index for a Everett Parnell dying in Marion, SC in Feb 1970. That man's date of birth was listed as Nov 4 1901 in SC.
Unfortunately there don't seem to any longer be many people working at the state hospitals (at least in the medical records departments) who have a grasp on the history of the facilities. I've yet to figure out whether Umstead Hospital had a cemetery ....but I've not yet put much effort into it as I've been plenty busy with Broughton's cemetery and now with Cherry's.
But I suspect Everette died in SC and is buried there. I have searched the SC and NC death certificates on for him and every rendition of his age and name I can conjure (and though the SC death certificates were not indexed well the NC death certificates are indexed so that they can be searched in just about every way imaginable). Have you searched the cemeteries where his closest relatives were buried in the Darlington and Marion county areas? Sorry - wish I could be of more help.

I got the picture you requested for William Mitchler in L.I.N.C. He's buried with his wife June L. I've also added pictures to her existing memorial.
Have a good one...
