Picture of my dad
Rick - thanks so much for the picture of my dad on his 'site'. I have never seen this photo before. It actually made me cry. I miss him and my mom more and more as the years go by!

The Locator
Skinner Memorial
You sent me a correction stating:

In doing research on Henry Skinner of Brooklyn #14058738, I looked for the other Skinners, who lived in Brooklyn, and found your memorial for Lydia Skinner. You have one of her sons, Eugene, born 1858, when Lydia would have been 73 years old. That's quite a record!!! There must be something incorrect here. I think that Lydia must be the mother of Henry, also. People in Brooklyn got Leonard and Henry mixed-up when they wrote the 1950 Centennial Book, and that's easy to do.

Let me know what you think. Thanks,

Richard Johnston

I believe you are correct, but you will have to contact Randy who created this memorial and have him do the correction..............

Lynn Erb
Sarah T Crusen Brown b.1837
Hi Richard, Around Oct 15,2012 I photographed the entire Mount Idaho Cemetery. It doesn't mean that Sarah is not buried there. I found no headstone or marker for her. If you have access to the cemetery records you might find more information. Sorry I could not help more, Lynn

My wife is the Shiflett in the family. If you tell me how you are related to the Shifletts than I can tell you how you are related to my wife.

Hi Richard

You posted on find-a-grave a picture of Garland Shifflett. Would it be ok if I posted his picture on the Shifflett website

I see where you added a picture of James C Johnston to his memorial #36830733. Are you related to this family? This is my husbands side of the house...........

I noticed you had several photos of the Cummings family. Please let me know if you have an album that dates back to the 1860s - Charles Cummings (as you know) came West to visit the Beeson family in what is not Talent, Oregon. In addition to writing a diary across the plains that is now at Yale, Charles wrote a diary that started the day he got to Oregon until he left again. That diary is with the Beeson collection at the University of Oregon. I have transcribed it - it is posted on my blog at the following link
May I please use the Charles Cummings photo with the diary post?
I would like to see any photos you have to see if Beeson's gave them their photos or if there are any Oregon people in the albums. Thanks, Jan Wright
