RE: Samuel Maggard
Sorry but don't have any documents to prove/disprove the relationship of Samuel's parents?

I have a copy of two different letters written by grandsons of Frances Payton Tuell connecting her with her father Lewis Payton. If you would like copies of this information send me an email and I can attach the copies.

RE: Shufelt
My wife and I went out today and tried to find some info for you. First was the Columbia County Historical Society research library in Kinderhook. We struck out here except for some info from the Claverack church book which has a listing for the marriage of Jeremiah and Anatje and the baptism of most if not all of their children. No Andrew. In fact we did not find anything for an Andrew.
I had hoped the Krum church book would have been a source of info.
Next stop was for an ice cream cone and then on to the Local History library (Berkshire Anthenaeum) in Pittsfield , Ma.
Death notices from the Berkshire Courier list Andrews death date as May 30, 1889 ae 73 pub dae 5 Jun 1889. The stone says 1887? No listing for his wife?
The MA vital records also list only Andrew and have the same date. The actual record page is interesting. His location of birth is empty as are 2 or 3 above him. The last one with a location is Hillsdale, NY. This is what I find in several places on the net but no real proof.
Even though we did find Andrew listed here, there was no solid indication of his birthplace or parents. We also did not find the marriage, which was supposedly in Alford, MA per info I found on the net.
Not sure what else I can do to help. I came away knowing that the MA vital records are by no way complete!

You asked about the grave stones pictures of Jeremiah and Anatje. They are already on findagrave in the North Copake Cemetery, also called the Niver Memorial Cemetery.

sorry I could not be of more help,
Fred & Elsie

RE: Shufelt
Could you email me directly

If you have any more info on Andrew it may help. If he was born/baptised in MA I may be able to get that info from the library in Pittsfield. In Columbia County NY the Historical Socety may have the church book.

In Niver Cemetery looks like the plot you want conatins the following:
Jeremiah, Feb. 17, 1848, 80-6-28
Hannah, wife, March 29, 1843, 70-2-6
Margaret, dau., May 23, 1864, 61 y. 3 m .
Thomas, Nov. 26, 1876 (or 1870), 78 y. 2 m.
Betsey, wife, Aug. 10, 1885, 83-3-13

Thanks and will help if I can,

Per the following info for Jeremiah and Hannah it does not appear that they had a son Andrew if I was reading your message correctly.
See the following web site and individual
80. Jeremias SHUFELT

I know the Niver Cemetery and can get there if they are the people you want.
