Bio and Links
Bio Photo My father's side is from Lufkin TX and mothers side "The Weinman's" are from Stuttgart KS. I was raised in Altus & Lawton Oklahoma, and now live in Clinton Utah. I like to add old photographs to show a chronological order of an individual's life, even after death. I'm caught up with my family, so I'm inventorying local cemeteries.

Altus Cemetary
Yes, the grass at the cemetery is green, but the area is still in a serious drought. Jackrabbits in the cemetery? More like giant jackalopes!

RE: Navy Daze
Don,

Yes, it brings back some memories looking at your brother's memorial. I was in the cub scouts too. I'm sorry for the family losses that you've had. I visited both brother's memorials, and your parents as well. I left flowers on their memorials.

I understand about the military and their Tech Orders. We were always using Tech Orders at Hill. Once in a while we would find a discrepancy in a Tech Order, or find a better/easier way to do the job, and we would request a change in the T.O. A lot of work goes into them for sure.

I was influenced by my father, in some of the choices that I made, while growing up. He was in the Navy and worked at Hill. He was a Machinist Mate, working in the engine room, aboard the battle ship U.S.S. Iowa during W.W. II. A few years after the war He started working at Hill repair their aircraft. He, eventually, became a foreman in the Flight Test area at Hill. He passed away in 2006.

I studied electronics in high school. Before I was 19, I worked at Hill for about 6 months in the electronics area. Then, I joined the Navy, and received training in electronics and sonar. After the Navy, I returned to Hill in 1970 and resumed working. I retired from Hill in 2008, but realized that I needed something to keep myself busy other than yard work, etc. So I decided to work part time at Napa Auto Parts. My cousin Brent works there, and I knew most of the people that worked there. Between Napa and Find A Grave, and lets not forget the yard work, I manage to stay busy.

Good Luck with the T.O.'s Don, that's a lot of work and responsibility.

Richard

Thanks Don.

Are you related to Brock Andrew Rhoades? I'm not related, and I am willing to transfer his memorial to anyone that is close to him. I hope you have a nice weekend.

Thanks again, Richard

I went to school at Eisenhower with a guy named Steven (Steve) Hardy. He's on the LPD. That's the only Hardy I know.
