Bio and Links
Bio Photo Terry Olson has been an avid genealogist since 1988. He has roots primarily in Sweden, Norway, Minnesota, New York, Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Connecticut, as well as in the UK. Always looking to break through those dead end lineages, the advent of Find A Grave is, to him, a great resource, and a fantastic way to break through some of those dead ends.

Looking for the final disposition of the following ancestors, and great hopes of furthering their biographical/genealogical information.

Harvey A. Hall, died 18 December 1863, Holland, Erie County, New York (born around 1820 in Oneida County, NY). Burial location unknown. Not known to have participated in the Civil War.

Emma/Emily Lucy (Wells) Hall, died after 9 August 1860 (and some time before 18 December 1863 which is Harvey's death date, and he remarried between those dates), probably in Holland, Erie County, New York (born abt 1829-1831, New York). Burial location unknown.

Harvey married Marintha Rogers after Emma died. Marintha remarried after Harvey died, to Deloss W. Kimball, and they are both buried in the Protection Cemetery, in Erie County, New York. Harvey and Emma are not buried there.

Alexander McDowell, died 1796 or after, place unknown (born perhaps around 1740, place unknown). His wife, Levinah (Oak) McDowell, died in Chelsea, Orange County, Vermont, 22 October 1795, and was buried in Chelsea on 25 October. Alexander and Levinah married in Shrewsbury, Worcestershire County, Massachusetts, 1 November 1764.

RE: Joanna Battle
Hi Terry,

I checked online for all the cemeteries I could think of around here and even in Cattaraugus County too with no luck on either woman. There are Battle(s) in Cherry Creek, but that's all I could find.
I try to keep checking when I'm out in other cemeteries.

RE: John Kimble
You have to work that out with Mr La Marca. I have no control over this memorial. I don't know if you requested the photo but I don't like doing work that others have done.

There is too much difference in their ages. You should find a marriage certificate to prove this one.

Ezedial Kimball grave at Crane Cemetery

I was at the Crane Cemetery yesterday and found a Kimball (just Kimball) monument and the graves of Hetty, Arthur and what appears to be "infant" Kimball. I was unable to find anything marked Ezekial Kimball however. If you would like the photos I have taken, please let me know and I will be happy to e-mail them or post them as you wish.

RE: James Rogers Sherman/ James Wallace Sherman
I was sent on a hunt to find someone. A Sherman who lives in TX wanted me to find his grandpa. It took talking to town folk to find the cemetery. The person he was looking for was Harry Gibbs Sherman. I am related to Sherman is some manner, don't know how, yet, and it is distant, I do believe. But my GG Grandpa was left with a Sherman family in CT just bef he was 2 yrs old. His Dad was in the CW and his Mom took off, can't find her. Eli Baker was captured in VA and then killed when CW was coming to an end. Eli's wife didn't collect any pension funds. Eli's sister and a Sherman did.
History is very interesting and more so when you bump into ppl like yourself with the Sherman and Hall names.
I added the additional info to James bio.

James Sherman
Bisbee Sherman Cemetery, Bristol, Mass

Hi Terry,
Nice to meet you.

I have added the info you shared abt James Roger Sherman. I don't know how he is a "Roger" when he has an intial of "W" on his footstone.
I looked at the Sherman's in Acushent Cemetery, Bristol, MA to see if John and Abigail where there and didn't see them but the Sherman name is spelled 3 different ways even within the same direct family unit.

There are many more cemeteries in Acushnet I still have to photo and list. The town does not have any names of the buried bef 1830 or there abts. Once the stones are gone the names will go with them. I have listed a couple other Sherman's or variation of the name, who are in different cemeteries in Acushnet and New Bedford.

I see you have Hall in your lineage. Hall is my direct maternal line. I don't see Harvey but I do have a small handful that died in NY.

Happy holidays,

You're welcome.

It is nice to know someone notices and appreciates it. I always appreciate contributors who photograph my out-of-state relatives.

RE: Hallenbeck's
Hi Terry, You're welcome. I check as much as I could and I think I found Nellie's mother. There is an Orissa Francis buried in section L-45. Born Sept. 18, 1835, died Mar. 26, 1906. I checked it 3 times today and I'm afraid there is no headstone.
You can bring up all the Francis' in Forest Hill by just clicking on Forest Hill and just type in the last name Francis.
Now, in Treat Cemetery I found 1 more Filley, 1 more Franklin and 2 more Edicks. I have created memorials for all of them and if you want I will transfer them over to you and then just put in photo requests and I will add the photos for you.
Some of the headstones are in bad shape so some of the dates I am not sure of.
They are:
Ella H Franklin 1848-1928,
Austin Filley died Jan 1 1885,
John Edick died May 10 18__ and
Betsey Edick died April 25 1892.
One more thing the Malvin Franklin you created a memorial for, is Malvina Franklin.

Forest Hill
Hi Terry, I have added the headstone photo for Nellie Hallenbeck to her memorial. If you would please put in a request for William I will be glad to add it to his memorial for you. The reason I ask for the request is last summer I put a photo on a memorial without a request and I received a very nasty email from someone.
Also, I can't find Aurelia Francis and I can't even find her in Forest Hill. I do have a plot map and if you need anyone else or you find out where Aurelia is just let me know. i live less than a mile from Forest Hill and I go by there a few times a day.
Sincerely, Ron Kinney
