Violet Gilbert
I have just entered a page for Violet Gilbert, 1914-1996. She is on a plaque with Edward H. Gilbert. Is that YOUR Edward H. Gilbert? Should I link her as a spouse?

Chattertons in Pine Grove, Whitinsville
I'm accepting all your edits - thank you! - but you should know that Fannie's Plot designation as 24 Wildwood Path doesn't really mean anything - there are no section or road/path markers in Pine Grove Cemetery. :-)

RE: Adding family links and transfer memorials
I cannot transfer the wife's memorial because I don't own it - the VA Administration does. But, they are pretty good about transferring if you send a Suggest A Correction and ask them to transfer it to you and supply your member number.

RE: Fannie Chatterton
The link you gave for her father is incorrect - #115354451 comes up as someone totally different - you might want to resend the SAC (Suggest A Correction) with the memorial number for her father again.

Annie was my mistake - looking at the photo again, I can see a faint F, so it does indeed say Fannie on the front as well as the top. This is more visible in the photo than it was on the stone itself.

Full transcription is on her memorial page now. (I don't usually add transcriptions unless they have information that's not already entered into the fields on the page.)

To look for more Chattertons, just go to the main page for the cemetery - there's a link on her memorial page - and search in the search box. I haven't seen any memorial for her mother yet.

Hope this helps!

RE: Anne
Thanks for the info - but could you please send them as SACs, using the edit tab on each individual page - that provides both a link directly to the page, and a record of the suggestions. I'll do them as soon as I receive them - thanks!

M. Chatterton
I just posted a tombstone photo of a M. Chatterton, a Civil War soldier from NY, in the Hampton National Cemetery, Hampton, VA. His memorial is at

Is he one of yours?

RE: Benson Gilbert Grave Memorial
Sorry, I don't have that much on the Gilberts. Benson Gilbert married into our family lines. I do have some info on Benson's parents. You may have this already, if so, just ignore.

Father, Elijah Gilbert born 1 Nov 1750 in Brookfield, Worcester Co., MA, died 6 Aug 1829 in Peru, Berkshire Co., MA.

Mother, Mary Dunbar born Jan 1755 in Leicester, Worcester Co., MA and died 22 Mar 1840 in Peru, Berkshire Co., MA.

Elija and Mary married 14 Sep 1775 in New Braintree, Worcester Co., MA.

Benson had at least one sibling that I know of, Mary "Polly" Benson born 1778 in Brookfield, Worcester Co., MA and died 26 Oct 1819 in Hinsdale, Berkshire Co., MA. Married Daniel Brown, 19 Jan 1796 in Hinsdale, Berkshire Co., MA

Elijah's parents were a Henry and Sarah Gilbert, which I would assume is one of the Henry's you are referring to.

Good luck in your hunt.
