RE: Lester Cemetery

This is the one entry I did attach part of the picture I took of the page. There has to be more information but this is what is there from first glance. I plan on reading the whole book.

It was compiled in 2006 for the Lester Reunion by Ruth Trueblood Eckes. It is bound - probably could be copied but is a lot of pages, double sided.

RE: Lester Cemetery

Thanks for your replies! Bob Stafford is my great uncle though I really haven't had much direct contact with him in my life. My dad talks to him periodically though.

Bob is one of the last people to straight up own land in Lester and we are hoping to keep that land in the family.

I am not sure if you were notified, but I added the names from the book who were mentioned. The tricky thing is trying to find more solid info but I haven't been real successful using WA Digital Archives and Family Search. So many people were in and out of Lester which makes things difficult.

The page also lists the name of someone buried at Lizard Lake - not sure if I should just add their name without a cemetery?

Thank you!

Lester Cemetery

My grandfather grew up in Lester, Washington and his brother still owns land inside the town.

My brother does work for the Tacoma Watershed and has been back in there many times. Last week, the Tacoma guys gave him a book about Lester. There is a page with info about who was buried in the cemetery as well as someone who was buried around where a tunnel was being blasted and at one other place.

I think with census records and that info, we could actually put some info into this virtual cemetery.

I should have grabbed that book last night but I will in the next couple days!

RE: George Church
Kay has relatives in NF East Cemetery. She has done a lot of research there. She has George, but don't think there was a monument. She has some deeds and other information.

RE: Thank you for photo
You're more than welcome - wish I could have got a better quality photo for you. Time hasn't been kind to the Mineville Cemetery.

RE: Ledwich/Blair
Dear Pam,
The only Ledwich connection I can find you presumably already found. Louise Marian Ledwich Blair, wife of Berl Warner Blair, was my Grandpa Blair's first cousin by marriage. I know virtually nothing else about the Ledwich family, except that possibly Louise and Berl eloped to Kansas City to get married. Why they felt they had to elope I wonder. They named their firstborn Ralph Ledwich Blair. Ralph became a doctor of medicine. He married and had three children, all still living, and all younger than me.
