My roots in Calhoun County, Illinois go back many generations. When I began my genealogical research there, I intended to concentrate only on my own relatives. I soon found that that was just about impossible since the family histories of the people who lived there were so interwoven. Because of its geography, Calhoun became one of those places where almost everybody was related to everybody else, even though some of the links did get pretty distant at times.

That being said, I have not discovered any close ties between my family and Frank Huffstutter. I did find some extremely distant connections to a few members of the Moziers. It may be that there are closer links, but, as of right now, I have yet to discover them.

I'm not sure about any thread you may have seen and attributed to me. I have never participated in an on-line genealogical discussion. However, I do often respond to questions from other Find A Grave members on their contributor's page. Was that where you saw something you thought I wrote regarding a person named Eunice Hofsteater Hathaway? If so, you'll have to refresh my memory.

I would like to ask if you think I should change the spelling of Frank Huffstutter's surname on his memorial to Huffstutler? I did see that spelling variation once or twice while doing my research, but the census-takers and other record keepers in Calhoun tended to be a bit creative with their spelling. The Calhoun County Historical Society has the name recorded as Huffstutter.

Please feel free to let me know about which way to go with the surname spelling, or if there are additions you would like me to consider including in the bio.

RE: Mary Ann Mozier/Frank Huffstutter
Hi Ray,

Do you mean the Huffstutters in Calhoun County rather than Hardin County?

You can contact me directly by using the Edit tab on their memorials as long as I am listed as the creator. Those messages are not public and come straight to me.

Also, it looks like you are related - if I am the site manager of those sites, would you like me to transfer them to you to make additions/corrections?

Hi, I found the photos at two different flea market/antique shows both in Oregon.
If you would like the originals, I might still have them.
My regular email address is:
I have no need to keep the originals but need a home for them.
