Bio and Links
Bio Photo My love for family history stems from my dad, and I've been dabbling in it ever since he passed. Since I moved out West to Las Vegas in 1973 I found that genealogy helps keep me connected to my Pennsylvania roots. "You are the Sum of All of your Ancestors" as someone once quoted, and so my curiosity has always been swayed by that motto. My interests lie mainly in my own direct lines, which primarily are rooted in Central and Eastern Pennsylvania Like Snyder, Dauphin, Berks, Northumberland, and Lancaster counties. I try and link as many family members as possible to the memorials I'm interested in, adding bio and photo information as I've researched over the years so other descendants can find the memorials useful to their own research.

Deborah - I have transferred Mrs. Gunster to your care. I would so rather a family member care for their loved ones. Thank you for contacting me and to add the information, but this is your loved one. Loved the picture of her! God bless.

Figured it out
Originally Nelson had three older cemeteries, and when the dam went in, they were all consolidated up on the hill with the current cemetery known to locals as Nelson.
Lockwood C. Hoyt and wife are in the section of graves moved from the older cemeteries by the Army Corps of Engineers, and I know the location of that relocation section to attempt location for photography. I will check my Nelson folder, I may have already photographed it.

Lockwood Hoyt
There is no burial record for Lockwood Hoyt or his wife for that era 1842, only the later Lockwood Hoyt circa 1940s.
They could be buried in another location.
Or as common at that time when resources were limited in the county (still pioneer phase early to 1850), they had no stone or a stone that is long gone.
What clues do you have they are buried in the modern Nelson Cemetery??

Deb-I just pulled up John Wesley's Missouri Death Certificate #14227. He died in St. Joseph, MO., Buchanan County and it gives his birth date as Aug. 6, 1855, born in Williamsburg, PA, but unfortunately it states parents: Unknown.

My information came from a book that was compiled in the 1980's on all burials in Holt County, Missouri. It was researched by going to gravestone to gravestone in each cemetery. The information came from his headstone. It does state that he was born in Muncy, Pennsylvania. I was just at Mount Hope today and recall seeing Zeliff stones, but I was looking for others today and didn't take note of them, not having had your message yet. I am Treasurer of Holt County Historial society and may be able to do some looking for you at our research center the next time I get down there. Does your family Bible say anything about him moving to Missouri?
