Bio and Links
Bio Photo Born Mar 1942 in Washington City Hospital, Washington, PA to Hazel Leora (Skinner) & Ralph Franklin Stanley of RD #2, New Cumberland, WV. My paternal grandparents were Benjamin Franklin and Mary Catherine (Dotson) stanley of New Cumberland, WV. My maternal grandparents were Thaddeus Stephen & Blanche Martha (Mehaffey)Skinner who lived in Washington, PA. I grew up outside Newell, WV; straight up Reddicks Hill from the one stop light in Newell (about 6 miles). I graduated 1960 from Wells High, Newell, WV. I joined the Women's Army Corps in Jan 1961. I was stationed with one of my high school bullies (Carolyn Wilson) and because my mother lived in Germany with us she was a true friend, or at least tried to be. Met & married my husband (James LeRoy Klaas) in Heidelberg, Germany. He was a private in the US Army from San Bernardino, CA. He reached the rank of Sergeant Major before dying (10 Aug 2000) and received commendation while serving in Vietnam. He was the son of Jobe Pershing & Anne (Chipilla) Klaas. We were married in Heidelberg, Germany on 2 Feb 63 and our son, Jim's only blood child, was born 23 Feb 64, in Heidelberg, Germany, David Michael Klaas. He now resides in Elko, NV and is married to Shelly Francine (Pentecost). They have three children (my grandchildren); Jared Michael, Parker David, and Jillian Alesandra. All born in Eugene, Oregon. David is a computer engineer.

I retired from working for the US Army & US Air Force after 35 years as a federal employee. My last place of employment was Edwards AFB, Edwards, CA 93535.

I now live in Marshall, Arkansas. Which is about 72.3 miles from Branson, MO. Marshall also is a small town like Newell and has only one stoplight.

Mary and Charles Skinner's children
My grandfather, Harold Skinner, was the great great grandson of Charles and Mary Ann Culbertson-Skinner. According to the family tree my grandfather created they had ten children.
James , Caroline, Rose, John, the twins Ritner and Renselaer, Maria, Charles , Annie and my grandfather's great grandfather Fernando.

RE: Catherine Lee & Geo. Dotson
No, I don't need a copy of the MC for Levi & Cath. b/c I've seen it & they were marr'd. in Monroe Co., OH not WV & it says "Mrs. Cath. Dotson", however, do you have a copy of the marr. rec. for Mary/Cath. to Geo? And if so, does it name his parents? I ask b/c the DC/DR for Wm./Geo. has the parents names as Rich. & Mary & also does their marr. rec. have his full name?

And since you have the DC for Rebecca you probably should create a pg. for her & remember if you don't know b/c the DC doesn't say where she is buried you can use the steps I gave you for making a mem. pg. not show a cem. location....

ALSO, I've seen a survey that was 'copied' in July 1968 (don't know what it was 'copied' from or when the item copied was originally created) there are NO ppl named Lee, William or Dotson on the list so Mary/Cath. may not have been buried in that particular cem. in Morristown.

Mary/Cath. isn't my real problem at this's Geo. & if the DC, death register (DR) & marker photo are for actually HER husb...

1st the age difference btwn the man on the DC/DR is 38 yrs...granted NOT unheard of...which means he was 63/64 when Rebecca was born...again, granted NOT unheard of but not exactly common. Plus if he's alive in 1850 how come he's not on the census w/ Mary/Cath. & Rebecca?

As for the photo of the marker, I'm not sure that is for the man on the DC/DR b/c they both say the doc's are for a man who was 88 yrs old & died of "old age" when he died in 1865 which would mean he was born 1776/1777 BUT the photo of the marker says born 1810 but even though the death dy is exactly the same (& I've seen this a couple of times before w/ ppl who have the same name & die the same day) I don't know for sure if the DOB yr on marker is wrong (I've seen that happen before too but never off by that much...33/34 yrs.) or if the marker is for another Wm. Dotson (which I suspect is the case).

ALSO keep in mind that the DC, DR nor the photo has the name Geo. anywhere on them...the DC & DR say "Wm. Dotson, Sr." & the marker just says "William Dotson" EXCEPT the DR DOES say that the death was reported by son, "Dotson, Wm. G." but we don't know that the G. on the son's name means Geo.

Naming a Cemetery
If you don't want to actually name a specific cem. in the "official" 'Burial' category & instead just want to put the name of the cem. you think a person may be into the bio then...

AFTER you create the pg. (after using the name of any cem. just to get the pg. created) click the 'Burial: Edit' link & a new pg. will open called "Edit the burial information (name of person)" & you will see 3 options to choose from & then "Burial information unknown at this time".

BUT BE CAREFUL, If you choose that option then a photo CAN'T be requested SO...for examp. what you did w/ Cath.'s Pg. naming Morristown can be just fine in some cases if you have a general idea (as long as you DO place in the bio that you're not sure) b/c sometimes @ least that gives ppl a starting point to look.

RE: Charles & Mary Ann Skinner's Photo
If you need anymore photos, let me know. Waterford is a little over 30 minutes from me but I do get up that way often. I also have access to the record book but I can tell you it is not 100% up to date. For some reason no one knows where cemetery records are but a few years ago the Erie County Genealogy Society walked and recorded the entire cemetery. I know I have ancestors in there that are in unmarked graves but they are not in the book. Its a bit frustrating when records are missing but it happens more than me can imagine. Also as for the Skinners, there are many more in there and some graves are very old. If I get to the Erie Co library, I will look in the book and see what names I can find. Take care.

RE: Charles & Mary Ann Skinner's Photo
Marcia, there were 2 other Skinners on that giant memorial stone. One child I connected (Mary M.S.) and another I was not sure if it was a son but his name was Renselaer Skinner. Hope that helps.... Have a wonderful weekend.
