Bio and Links
Bio Photo I'm a retired chemical engineer living in the Houston area, though my wife and I grew up in Austin, Texas. We are researching the branches of our family that spread from Central Texas to East Texas, over to Alabama, Georgia, and all the way up to Ohio. We have found this site to be extremely helpful to us, and we hope that we will add information that will be of help to others.

We have been searching cemeteries for Cox, Whitt, Koos, Stewart, Davis, Cherry, Zimmer, Miller, Watson, Cross, Hurley, Locke, and Braly, but in the process of looking for our relatives, we have been taking additional photographs, especially in cemeteries where not many photos are available. You may use any of our headstone photos without asking our permission; however, we would appreciate receiving credit for our photo. If we manage a memorial for your relative, and it is not someone closely related to us, we will be more than happy to transfer the management to you. Unlike some contributors, we will transfer non-direct relatives such as cousins, aunts and uncles.

Schoenian
Arthur Schoenian was my husband's grandfather. My mother-in-law was Audrey Schoenian Gahn, her parents were Arthur & Clara Bauer Schoenian.
Arthur died on Dec 28, 1935. I am sure he is buried at Russel but they were so poor that they couldn't probably afford a headstone. They had 12 children. The 1st 6 lived to adulthood but the last 6 died as infants or stillborn. They are all buried in Russel Cemetary. Again they were so poor that no headstones. I do have death certificates for the babies but not Arthur's.
Clara died in 1961.
What is interesting is that Christopher & Antonia Schoenian also had a daughter named Clara. So I am not sure if that is the Clara you have or my Clara who was married to their son Arthur. (confused yet lol). I do have a picture of my Clara as a little girl & one of Arthur about in his early 20s.
Feel free to contact me anytime either here or at my e-mail debbiebge@aol.com.
I do want to share this with you. We have 3 children. 2 girls & 1 boy. His name is Christopher & my husband didn't know that he had a grandfather named Christopher until I started doing research on his family!! So we thought that was awesome.
Thanks again. Have a good day.

Antonia Schoenian
Thanks so for much for the picture of Christopher & Antonia Schoenian grave! They were my husband's great grandparents. Even though we live in Ohio, we haven't found the time yet to go down to Athens & visit the cemeteries, but it is something we plan to do.
Thanks again. I would like to add this picture to my tree & I will make sure to credit "texnative" if that is ok. or if you would like another name attached.
thanks again,
Debbie Gahn

RE: PAUL J. OSKEY
Paul and Leo's spouses are messed up. Hopefully now it is correct. Thanks for pointing this out. :)

Thanks for transfer
Thanks for the transfer. I had made a photo request for both of them and got a reply back last night that they could not find the head stones at the stated location. I further contacted the cemetery office and found out that neither one of them have head stones. So they are both unmarked graves, but the location is correct. I do notice that Thomas's death certificate says he was born in Selma, Al., which is incorrect. He was born in Perry County, Al., which is just north of Selma. Thanks again.

Thank you so very much for the pic of his marker. I never knew him, but he was my mothers' favorite uncle, and my grandpa's baby brother.

Again, thank you!!
