Hello Find A Grave Community,|
I love Find A Grave!! This web site was one of the
first site's that our local library recommended for Genealogy. I have not been disappointed. I believe that every member of our family needs to be recognized in death, as well as life. I am trying to locate all the members of my family and put them here, if they do not all ready have an memorial or even if they have an unmarked grave but am able to find burial location.
My biggest past time is genealogy. I love it and like sharing my information with other family members. I am currently researching Adams, Connell, Brewer, and Curl descendents. My brick wall is my 3 great grandfather-Brantley Augustus Adams, I have not been able to locate his place of birth-other than SC or his parents. If any one can help, please contact me.
I will be happy to link any family member I have with another family member just let me know. I will appreciate any additional family information or corrections to what I have here on Find A Grave.

Rebekah, here it it:
Cullman Tribune - 10 May 1894
Homer Elizah Jackson, son of Mr J P and Mary Ratliff, born Oct 24 1893 and died May 1, 1894, age six months, four days and a few hours. The remains of the dead child were interred at Hopewell Cemetery, on the second day of May 1894, with appropriate burial services conducted by the writer. It is always sad to witness the grief-afflicted parents on the death of their darling children, but upon this occasion while the parents and loved ones were taking their last look, we could not keep from saying "another child in heaven," and this sad bereavement to earthly parents, a bud has been transported from a world of sorrow into that world of joy and
"Ere sin could blight or sorrow fade
Death came with friendly care
The opening bud to heaven conveyed
And now it blossoms there"

I will check on this. The oddity is that my great grandfather was Rufus Decatur Culpepper. I did not realize that there was another Rufus. Will keep in touch.

Did not realize that she was part of the family, will try to get out there soon and take her pics. Due to rain the next few days. If I forget just jog my memory.

Hello Becky, I have been fortunate to be able to work with this cemetery and get locations of different stones. Some of the larger cemeteries now will only give information out to family that calls them directly. I guess privacy has affected everyone. I have found the James Curl you asked about and he is with 3 others. Will post the pics soon. Open the pictures to find out about the location. I posted pics on the cemetery front page, at one time, for the different sections in this cemetery.... they are in Devotion. Did not find any military markers. That does not mean that he did not serve but a marker is not there. Now days I do not believe you can get a military marker for free if they have a regular marker. Hope this helps.
