Bio and Links
Bio Photo Born to southern parents from Alabama and West Florida. My father enlisted in the Navy and we made 8 moves before I was 16yo.

I love to hike. Backpacked the entire AT in 1989.
Met my wife who is from CT while hiking on the AT in 1990.

Now I live with the Yankees in the nutmeg state.
Spend most of my time fixing up my wife's family home built by her GGFather in 1876.

I have also been a Scoutmaster for the BSA here in Connecticut for the past 10 years, which takes a lot of my time too.

None of us are getting out of this alive. It sure has been fun finding out where some of the bodies are buried.

Find A Grave: What a great concept. I have really enjoyed the time I have spent on this site. It's nice to be able to see photos of gravestones that are real and are a memorial to our ancestors.

Howard Stern's Memorial Photo
I think you took the picture looking into the sunlight. Everything is perfectly readable, however, the headstone has a reflection of you taking the picture. If you ever have a chance, could you retake the picture to eliminate the interferences?

James Madison Justice
I am writing on behalf of Betty Ann Courtney Luter, a g-g-granddaughter of James Madison Justice through Talitha Justice, Mary Ann Carter, and Albert Thomas Courtney. She asks if you are related to her through Ellen Tersey Courtney who married William Henry Miller.

She would also like to know if you have any information on whether James Madison Justice had a wife before Mahala Yohn. (This is because it appears that Mahala was too young to be Talitha's mother.)

If you have information and would like to exchange data, please write back here and I will put the two of you in touch.

RE: Collecting Gunns
Ken, I only sent you 6 transfer requests for the 6 Gunn memorials you manage. You're acting like I asked you for all of your memorials. If you don't want to just give them to me I will trade with you. One for one.
The tree is not up to date, you would know that if you used Ancestry.
It's amazing how some people react to transfers, it doesn't diminish your hard work and effort. It just let's other Find A Grave's know where you stand on the idea of this site. You missed it.
Do the research? I do the damn research, how do you think I built a tree with 28000 people in it?
I think it's a great idea that someone wants to collect his surname's memorials. If you asked I would transfer all my Miller's to you.
I am related to many Millers, we are probably cousins.
I am collecting Gunn memorials so I can easily update and correct them, much faster then submitting an edit and then waiting for the manager to reply. Which sometimes never happens.
I have had many Find A Grave's transfer memorials to me without question, but there's always one that just doesn't get it or thinks they are the only ones that can properly take care of memorials.

I respect your quest to find your ancestors.
You have sent me 6 email requests thru Find A Grave for people with Gunn surnames.
I have looked at your GUNN-ENG-VA-GA-TN tree on Ancestry and none of these Gunns are in it.
Show me a tree with these names in it and I will gladly transfer them all.
Do the research and don't just ask because they have your last name.

Ken Miller

Do you think I should try to collect all the Millers?
