I am posting what I know about the folks who were buried at several family cemeteries that would likely be overlooked otherwise, then linking them to as many descendants as practicable. Each of these cemeteries includes a gravesite of the first family member to reside on the land on which the cemetery was established. |
I have been very pleased to learn that many other people are interested in memorializing those who have gone before us, and are eager to share what they know to make each memorial as accurate as possible.
If I can return the favor, please let me know.

In response to your rather snippy email, first of all, just because a person doesn't have a gravestone doesn't mean he/she is not buried in a particular cemetery. There are millions of people buried in unmarked graves. And FYI, the burial location of Buford Station listed on the death record is a geographical location and not necessarily a railroad depot.
Secondly, I am very well aware that find A Grave has provisions for people whose burial location is unknown, but thanks so much for telling me that I "can" avail myself of it.

Thanks so very much for this information about his proper burial place. I will work with that manager to get mine merged with his and Jemima's.

In the same plot are
Emily Gertrude Dreher Irwin 1853-1933
Mary Jayne Irwin Jones 1877-1966
Sarah Irwin Jones 1905-1971
Dr Robert Perry Jones 1872-1932
The rain is and has been causing the grass to grow faster than they can keep up cutting. Should you need clearer, better photos, please do not hesitate.
|Raven Smith Millwood||Phillip Barbour Mitchell|
I'm searching for a Phillip Mitchell, have very little to go on about him personally, he had more than one wife, one was Sarah Marbry, they had a daughter Lillie Luella Mitchell about 1905. other wife Lena Crane, they had a daughter Dezree Mitchell about 1913, twin sons Vester & Chester 1907, I heard Phillip was Indian, think they lived in Ok. Ms. Ar. son of Lillie remembers a Caxton Mitchell, and a couple he remembers seeing a few times he called Uncle Mark & Aunt Sallie. I would appreciate any help,

Thanks for the info. I have deleted my memorial for Charles and have moved Sarah's to Maplewood.

I submitted a change request, please ignore - it is not correct.
|Jim Funkhouser||Leonard Stump|
The father of the wife of Leonard Stump is misidentified on Find A Grave. In Hardy Co. Wills 1, pp.469-71, _George See_ named Leonard Stump as his son-in-law, husband of George's daughter, Elizabeth.
|Tom Hall||James Buford Cemetery|
I was responsible for coordinating the 2009-2010 restoration of the James Buford Cemetery on behalf of the Buford family. The person who did the restoration is no longer available to us, and we are currently looking for some one qualified to provide ongoing maintenance and expert repair as needed. Any suggestions will be welcomed.

|Charles Roe||RE: Granville Roe|
Biographical sketch of Grandville Roe gives one of his last addresses as Left Hand, Roane County, West Virginia (The West Virginia Heritage Encyclopedia [Volume Five - Chapter IV Roane, p. 285]). May help in locating burial site. Charles found this information while doing research at Taylor County Public Library, Grafton, WV.
