Bio and Links
I am in the process of trying to identify descendants of Thomas Blanchard who came to Massachusetts in 1639 and and his brother, Joseph,(I just found out that DNA tests indicate Joseph was not a brother) who also came to New England, to add information and links as appropriate. As of May 2015 I have been able to identify about 19,750 descendants. In this process I have come across many descendants of a Blanchard line that came originally to Rhode Island and then mixed in with Thomas's descendants throughout New England and New York.

Thank you for making edits to this memorial. I would be happy to transfer it to you if you'd like.

I'll keep # 141785909. It is made from a transcript and not from a photo. Thanks for letting me know and all you do for F.A.G.

RE: Henry Joseph Blanchard
Thanks Bruce - In that case, it happened on my end of things. The system only recognized the parent link request sent in the edit, so when I added Frances before processing the parent links the system created a removal request to match the original edit. It's crazy I know, but consistant with what I've read about on the forums. When it happened to you before the person on the other end must have done the same thing I did. Moral of the story, I will not make changes to links while edits for them are pending. Take care and thank you again. :)

RE: Henry Joseph Blanchard
Hi Bruce - Thank you for your reply. There is a known glitch in the system regarding links, but not sure how it happened in this case. It can cause one to cancel out another. You're right I did not have her added at the time you sent edit to link parents. Trying to figure this out, so did you at any point enter info for an edit on Frances to link her, instead of unlink?

I was unable to make any connection of Henry to Blanchards in Lyon Co. or any other for that matter. The only sources available, point to Ernest and Lovey Blanchard, so I've linked. However, I've declined your edit to delete link to Frances for reasons stated below.

Henry Joseph Blanchard
Henry Joseph Blanchard shares a headstone with Frances A. Blanchard. The headstone says Frances was B.1895 D.1984.

The cemetery has the following for her:
Frances A. Blanchard, 1895 - 19__ Frances Annette Blanchard, b: 31 Jan 1895, Stuttaart (Stuttgart),
Ark. d: 16 Mar 1984, age 89 yrs. in Bothell, WA the last 1 1/2 yrs, formerly of Vancouver,
funeral Tues. 20 Mar 1984 at Laynes Funeral Home, lot owner: self

Washington Digital Archives has their marriage record: Frances A. Beers married Henry J. Blanchard on 9 July 1957 in Grays Harbor County, Washington.

Henry appears to have been married twice, first to Ada, then to Frances.

Also, Henry's WWI Draft Registration card (1917)gives his correct birthdate, but says he was born in George, Lyon County, Iowa. However, during the years before and after his birth, Ernest and Lovey Blanchard lived in Fremont County, which would indicate these are not his parents. There were also Blanchards living in Lyon County at the same time and they could be parents of Henry. Even though Ernest and Lovey did indeed have a son "Henry", the records I'm seeing do not support a definite connection.

If you have any supporting information, please let me know. My main concern is accuracy, so glad to discuss it with you.

RE: Lydia Andrews
The hobby is fun--but in this case, she may well be kin as I have Andrews ancestors buried here (as well as Prince/Gilbert/Hardy).

I have declined the birth date as it does not match the marker, which states she was 64 years and 2 months at death, which is a month off. I do not calculate dates. I will accept it if you have a good source for this date (VR).

Thank you so much for the edits. I have been photographing St Louis # 2 and slowly entering them in Ancestry.com to confirm and add to the memorials, it is slow work with partial information! I you have other relatives or obituaries, please send other edits.

I put everything back the way I had originally had it before the edits. The edits you sent took out place of death (and full date) for Horace, and removed Amherst as the birthplace for Carrie.

When someone sends me an edit for the first time on a profile, I like to spend a bit of time on that profile as it is of interest to someone.

No harm done of course, it just surprised me that someone would want to change a profile from a specific place and full date of death back to just the year and place unknown.
