RE: Whittemores of Big Ivy Cemetry
Hi Linda,

Sorry, I can't help you with that. I am not a family member. I created the memorial for his daughter who died in McDowell Co., NC. I have been photographing cemeteries in McDowell Co.

RE: Infant James Monroe Revis
Either the death certificate is wro, or the funeral home records are incomplete. Either could have happened. For now we will leave his entry wife it is and perhaps more information will come available.

RE: Infant James Revis
There is a death certificate on for a James Monroe Revis, born and died 12-9-1956 at Greenville General Hospital; he died of prematurity. It states the parents were R.B. & Hazel Brooks Revis. The funeral home was Gantt and the burial was at Gantt Memorial Park the next day (this is the same cemetery as Liberty Memorial Gardens). You would have to call the funeral home, Liberty Mortuary -(864) 843-9211) and ask if the child is still buried there. I have not seen a marker for him, so he could either be there in an unmarked grave or he could have been moved for the reason you stated. There are some unmarked graves in that cemetery, not many though. I'll go ahead and list a memorial for him there and we can update it later either as a original burial location or move it to another cemetery if in fact he has been moved. When you call and if they tell you he is still there, see if you can get the plot and then I can go photograph where he is buried without a marker. If they tell you he's not there any more, they may or may not tell you where he's now buried, citing family privacy. Are you a relative? I noticed the Revis in your name, so they might give you the information.

Thanks, Karyn
