Wheeldon Ancestry
Shannon, you should be able to find the parents of Pleasant by going to the 1850 Indiana census. He was age 44 on the 1880 census, born in Indiana and would be about 16 years of age in 1850 and probably still at home.

Wheeldon Ancestery
Shannon, I possibly found information on your Great Grandfather David Wheeldon. I say possibly because this David Wheeldon was born in 1876 and not 1887 as our mother had told you but the year of death, 1908, is the same.

The 1880 Clinton Co. IN census lists the family of a Pleasant Wheeldon:
Pleasant Wheeldon, age 44, born in IN, Parents KY
Lyda Wheeldon, age 44, born in IN, Parents KY
Cory M., age 9, born in IN
Charles M., age 8, born in IN
David M., age 5 (Note David M.), born in IN

On the 1900 Newton Co. IN Census in the village of Kentland we find David Wheeldon (no initial), age 24, wife Stelle, age 18, and son Vermillion, age 7 months. David was born in IN in 1876, his parents were born in IN. David had been married 3 years.

Ancestery.com reports 1882-1920 Deaths - David A. Wheeldon (note initial A.), born about 1876 died in Rensselaer, IN 17 Aug. 1908. The source of this record was the City Health Office in Rensselaer, Book CH-15, Page 24, within the series provided by the Indiana Works Project Administration.

RE: my wheeldon ancestry
Shannon, I did not find a child of Pleasant and Nancy named David. On the 1850 and 1860 Pulaski Co. Ky census the children in age order were; Cornelius, William H., Sarah J., George H., John, James and Charles. I will e-mail you my memorial from my Find A Grave posting for Nancy which lists the children and gives a little history of Nancy and Pleasant. Let me know if I can be of further help.
