RE: Ann Blackburn

The stone is terribly eroded. But it matches what is listed on the memorial.

The base says Blackburn very clearly. And I believe the back of the base does, as well.

On the stone itself, all the writing is below the midline crack/joint.
It says "Ann", though there may be some missing letters after that. Then:

Apr 3, 1847
July 5, 1892"

Anything below that is illegible. This is one of those stones that needs to be viewed at several different times of day to pull any more detail, if it exists, out of it.

RE: Loma Britcher
It was an absolute pleasure. I spent 4+ hours here and was unable to locate any other Britcher family members.

I just emailed you the photo as I couldn't get it to turn, even after editing it. Frustrating.LMK that you received it please.

Hello! the Goodland cemetery has 2,838 people listed in Find A Grave. I try to go there when I can get the time or when I am up that way. The ground is very rough like in most cemeteries. I usually wait until there are more to look for before I attempt to walk the whole thing.

Hello! Do you have a location for her in the Goodland cemetery? If so, I will try to get there sooner than later to look for it.

More Furrs
Joanne -- Back in 2014 and 2015 you and I exchanged messages about some Furr memorials... well I just posted two new Furr memorials, Charles and Patricia, with photos, based on my wanderings in National Memorial Park. The memorial IDs are 159973885 and 159973981. If you want I will transfer these memorials to you. Hope you are well. Happy Easter! - David Hunsberger (#47811446)

RE: Memorial# 32867552
No, sorry for the confusion. The Hill Church cemetery is in Perry County, and the Old Church Hill cemetery is in Juniata County.

On my first trip to the Old Hill Church cemetery in Port Royal, I didn't find Isabella, but there were a lot of other Hockenberry graves. I will need to search the cemetery in more depth, and if I don't find her there, we can move to another one to search for her.

RE: Prudy Salmans Williams Memorial# 38840135
Hi Joanne,

I've uploaded photos of both Mary Caroline Salmans Marquis and her daughter Nona Mae. I've also sent several edits for Mary.

Mary died when Nona Mae was just a few years old. She was sent to live with her Grandmother, Rebecca Hudson Salmans who lived on the "home farm" two miles east of Danville, Illinois. At this time Rebecca has been widowed for two years. Prudy and Sarah were still living with Rebecca at the time. Several years later Rebecca had to break up her home & Nona Mae was sent to live with Prudy & her husband James Abner Williams who resided in Danville, Illinois.

Nona Mae finished High School in Danville went to college in Greencastle, Indiana and at Valparaiso, Indiana, graduating before she was 19 years of age. She became a teacher in the Danville High School.

She married twice first to Vestal Stanley Snyder who she had met while at school in Valparaiso. He was a lawyer. Second she married Thomas Elder Bryant who was a fruit grower.

I will look through my records and see if I have anything else concerning Mary Caroline. All the records I have seen, including The Salmans Book, have her married name spelled: MARQUIS.

How are you related to Mary? James & Prudy were my Great Grandparents.
