RE: Richard King
Larry, No that is not the one I am looking for. My Richard King was said to have been born in Harrison Co, KY in March 1822. He married Ann Maria King in 1845 in Pendleton Co. She was a daughter of Silas Mercer King and wife Frances Parker; she was said to be a (distant?) cousin of Richard. They removed to Clay Co., MO in 1854/55. I have lots of info on their family, but so far have not been able to identify his parents. Thanks, --Jim

RE: King
Thank you for the response Larry. I use a library computer so don't check every day. My husband's greatgrandfather was Benjamin King of Owenton,KY. His grandfather was James David "JD" King who came west and first settled in Rye Valley, Baker Co. Oregon (see US Census 1900 Rye Valley) and moved his large family to Vale, Malheur Co. OR in 1904 (see US census 1910 Vale, Malheur Co). You will notice that he named his first son William Elmer and his second son Benjamin Franklin. Kepple Wolf King came to Vale to visit the family once. There was also a Lela Harrison King with him (I don't know who she was. We visited Owenton in 1992 but couldn't take the King family back farther then Benjamin. We read some sources now that say his father was Richard King of Cynthiana, Harrison Co. KY. Can't find any documentation. Do you know anything about this? My husband Normand said to say hello to his cousin!!

Parents of Benjamin Franklin King
Would love to know your source -- Benjamin Franklin King's birth 1830 to Richard W. King? I have been working on my husband's King Line for a long time and would really appreciate the information. My husband is a great-grandson of Benjmain King & Ann Mary Stringfellow who's gravestones are pictured here. We visited this cemetery in 1992.

RE: Richard King
Larry, Thanks for the clarification on Richard King (1820-62), son of Richard King and Cynthia. I would like to correspond more in an attempt to locate the parents of "my" Richard King, said to have been born in Harrison Co. in 1822. --Jim jhhead@comcast.net

RE: Muriel King
I would be happy to transfer this to you. Please send a request thru the edit tab so I will be sure to get the correct one. I like to see family members managing & caring for the memorials. I am mostly posting pictures and am glad I was able to "find" Muriel King and hope you are enjoying your Find A Grave experience.

RE: Ben King
I forgot, I haven't found any records but there must be something. The caretaker told me he didn't have any records and used the Hist Soc Cemetery book to help people locate graves. I haven't checked to see if there is a cemetery board who may have a book on the cemetery. Bev

RE: Ben King
Hi Larry,

I don't know if Benjamin King is related to my King line. My ggggrandfather was James Harrison King, b 1821 in Tennessee. His parents & many of the family came to KY & settled in Owen & Grant, but his parents & some of the family returned to Tenn. My line stayed & spread to Trimble Co. If you want to manage the memorials I will transfer them to you since they are in your direct line. You can also sponsor a memorial for $5, see the FAQ for this info. Send a request using the edit tab as you did for the info, for each memorial you would like to manage. I'll check them against my tree & transfer those in your line. Bev
