I have been a genealogist for almost 30-years now, and have taught some courses in genealogy. I am presently doing a book on my GUTHRIE ancestors (and folks who married into the Guthrie family.)
I have been to Salt Lake City Family History Center five times, and spent a week to 10-days at a time doing nothing but researching. Although I am not Mormon, I love visiting and still in awe as to how many records the Mormons have collected - - it is truly unbelievable.
I have 4 kids, and have been married for 31-years. I have worked in Education for 25-years, and also taught Marketing and Management courses. I have a Bachelors from San Diego State College and a Masters from the University of Phoenix.
Would consider doing genealogy for others, on a case-by-case, consultant project.
Robert is my 4th ggf, too Hello Steve, Thank you so much for your research! I would like to get a copy of your book since I just discovered that the father of my great grandmother, Elizabeth J Guthrie, was Robert David Guthrie. Kind regards, Sandy Day
RE: Alice Jackson - Mt. Hope cemetery No I am not related to Alice Jackson or her family. I was just photographing stones at Mount Hope. If she is a relation of yours I will gladly transfer management of her memorial.
RE: Robert Guthrie/Jane Caldwell Steve, I just was looking at my research and I realize that I did find what looks like the will and probate records for Elizabeth Shaw's father Gawin. If you don't already have it, I would be happy to send you my excerpts and where I found them online. The other thing I have is the will for Robert Guttery and Samuel Gutherie. They look like the correct guys. You probably have all this stuff though since I found these after following clues from your Find a Grave pages. I haven't typed out the Guttery/Gutherie excerpts but I can send you the links.
this was all stuff I dug up in May of this year and hadn't processed it yet. I will try to make sure it gets in the next update for my website. have fun : ) Amelia
I don't have specific answers to those questions. The two sources that I do have, which probably won't help you are the book "From Gille Chriosd to Gilcrest" which led me to the Guthrie's and some letters found by a Diane Dykstra. These last were Civil War letters written by Dr. Guian S. Guthrie, son of Samuel and Elizabeth. Both of these can be found on my website http://www.amelialjames.com/genealogy/family/

Mary Ann Guthrie I have a marriage license for a Mary Ann Guthrie Married to Jacob B Lawson and they had Child by the name of Elizabeth Ann Lawson.in 1868. I'am somewhat confused how can the same woman be married to 2 different men in the same town county and die the same year and buried the same place only her tombstone states Mary Ann Lawson wife of Jacob B Lawson but the husbands tombstone beside her says Jacob M Lawson. Mary ann Guthrie Lawson is My Gr Gr Grandmother and Jacob B Lawson is my Gr Gr Grandfather. do you think mary was married 2 times? could we be cousins through her?
