My uncle, Carl Glee Smith Jr is memorialized at Manila American Cemetery and Memorial in the Philippines. His life was lost during Typhoon Cobra, December 18, 1944 when three ships went down, USS Hull, USS Monaghan and his ship the USS Spence. I have attempted to leave notes at each of the memorials for the 793 sailors who lost their lives that day. I also see many other memorials that no one has left flowers or honored them, I am also honoring those as I have time. There are over 44,033 memorials at that cemetery. May God bless the thousands of families who suffered loss during WW II.|
I am attempting to link many of Smith burials in an effort to help those who are just starting their family search venture. Descending from four Smith branches is a challenge. At the present time, I am linking Smiths from several states from Vermont, New York,Ohio to Illinois, Nebraska and Kansas. From Virginia through Kentucky to Arkansas. From Georgia, Arkansas to Texas.
In addition, I am documenting my Jones from New Hampshire, through Ohio, Illinois to Nebraska.
A few of my family lines are Blatherwick, Farrow, Gilbert, Wood, Kelsey, Evans, Blake, Cady, Watkins, Stewart, McCormick, Jones, Stiles, McDermott, Hoffman, Smith, Black, Brazle, Roth, Martin, Cole, Morgan, Oswalt

Hi Vickye -
I have a number of the older obituaries for many of the Stiles family you have created in the Greenwood Cemetery. If I transcribe them, would you be willing to post them to the memorials?
Let me know and I will start sending them your way.

Thanks for the transfer Vickye. And thanks for the advice, I'll remember that for the future!
I was wondering if you would be willing to transfer Find A Grave Memorial# 89871468 (Ellen Howard Ray) to me she is my 4th great grandmother.

She has been updated. Thanks. If you would like a transfer, let me know. I'm not related.

Fredrick Gilbert Crotser
Vickye, could I possibly get Fredrick Gilbert "Fred" Crotser transferred to me? He was my great grandpa. I had already added a picture for him a long time ago at his fruit and veggie stand. I remember him very well. I'll take good care of Grandpa Crotser, and do my best to get all his kids, etc. connected to his page. Thanks so much. sherry smith-stanford
His number is #9440087
Mine is #46943735
I sent my first request on 5/11/2013, and have not had a reply. Thanks.

Hope all is well with you. I paid a short visit to the Warren-Trumbull Co. Library a few days ago. As I was looking up obits for my family, I checked MOST of the newspapers for Trumbull Co. and did not find one for Ellen Blatherwick. Next trip I'll check all the "little" papers published in the appropriate time frame. I've planned a trip next week to the Trumbull County Archives where Deeds, Probate and County Court Records are housed. I'll keep "Blatherwick" in mind.

Happens to me too! I'm sure it's happened to most of us Findagravers :)

Thank you for contacting me about Thompson Burnam, I excited to hear from you. He was my Great Uncle, married to my Grandmother's sister. I tried your email address but it didn't go thru.
