Bio and Links
Bio Photo I was born in 1951 in Dallas, Texas to Don Herman and Mattie Adele Northcutt Brasher. I have an older sister Shirley Ruth Brasher Carter. My sister and I have been working on our family geneology for the last several years with me taking on the task and embelishing on what my sister started.

The most important thing I have realized in doing this labor of love is that family is most definately the most important aspect of any of our lifes. We may not realize that in these days of fast paced technology and fast lane ideology, but when we get older and look back, family is what really matters.

I stumbled on Find-A-Grave this year and have been very pleased to add to and correct information and obtain information about my family. I hope to be able to offer others the same happiness I have experienced when I locate a long lost family member's memorial.

James Lafayette Brasher
Hello Dona,
I see you are very active re Brasher ancestry. I noticed on the memorial on the site there is a conflict regarding James's parents. You have listed his father as Micajah Brasher, yet someone has attached a death certificate which lists his father as James L. Brasher and his mother as a woman whose name I've never encountered. James was my great grandfather. My cousin has done some research ( at local courthouses etc.) and decided that Micajah was his father, as has Charles Brashears in his book on the family lineage. My cousin cannot recall what information he found that led him to this conclusion. I'm perplexed that he doesn't show up in the census as part of that household. I've also seen family trees on ancestry that list his father as Rev. Edward Thomas Brasher. I'm hoping you can shed some light on the matter as I would love to find out just who is my g-great grandfather. Thank you!

Information posted on her page came from a Texas Death Certificate. I have corrected her father's name and added her mothers. Sometimes when people are reading the certificate it is hard to read the writing. Thanks for the correct information.

RE: William Northcutt
Do you know if John and Mary were buried in Oak Ridge or in California? I found no record for John in 1934 on Oak Ridge records so will have to assume they are buried in CA. I'll just add the info to father William's listing. Thanks for your info!

RE: William Northcutt
You're welcome! I did not add listings for John S and wife Mary Hornberger Northcutt whose names are also on the stone. Do you have any info on them such as death dates? Let me know if you do and I will add listings and photos for them.
