I took care of my 100 year old mother Elsie Fregin Ewig, for the past 20+ years. Her mind was so sharp and could remember so many of these family members that are located here on Find A Grave until a stroke finally took her life in January 2013. I have set up a private family tree on Ancestry.com and am very anxious to connect with any and all family members, especially those that have come from the Ewig family located in Massachusetts. I have lots of information to share and would love to hear any stories or information from others. |
Now that I am no longer housebound caring for my mom, I am able to take photos of gravesites here in the Temecula, Murrieta Valley area. Just give me a name of your family member, name of the cemetery and the exact plot number. I am currently unable to go to Riverside, so please keep your requests in the Temecula, Murrieta, Fallbrook area of California.

I can't remember where I got DeLafayette, so I changed it to Lafayette.

Permission granted as long as you provide Photo credit to Cathy & Tom, Find A Grave # 47115507.
Would certainly make updates, but I would ask that you use the 'EDIT' tab to convey information.

Barb - thanks for getting in touch. I'd be pleased if you'd use Rhoda's picture. I was able to fulfill someone's request for her headstone picture last fall when I visited Kentucky. Please use freely.

The weather has been great. The biggest challenge with Oak Grove is their hours. They were closing the gates at 4:30 up until Mother's Day. I usually complete requests after work, so this really didn't give me any time.
I found tier 13 no problem and where the grave is but there is no headstone.
so sorry to hear about your Mom but you were so lucky to have her for so long
all the best to
let me know if there is any thing else you need

I don't think ancestry is to blame here.
Cypress Lawn has a database that they built that, by their own admission, is fraught with error.
many locations are correct, many are incomplete, some are totally blank, and the rest are totally wrong.
so then a Find A Grave member [GRAVES] came along and somehow or other downloaded the entire database from Cypress Lawn and then Uploaded the bulk of it to findagrave, along with all the errors and omissions.
Cypress Lawn is close to building a new database that will hopefully be reliable.
In the meantime, if I suspect the location is correct I go out and take a chance that I am not wasting my time.
The rest of the time I suggest that folks call the office to get the exact location. then I am happy to go get a photo at my earliest convenience.
