The memorials were:

Mignonette Whelen
Violet Whelen Greenough
Charles S. Whelen Jr.
Sarah Yeates Whelen (already added by someone else)
Kingston Goddard Whelen
Mary Roberts Whelen
Rebecca Whelen
Townsend Whelen
Alfred Whelen
Sarah Smith Whelen

Best of luck with your continued search.

Sincerely,
Antonio

RE: Sarah Alice Town Billings
Kathy,

The lot itself should be the city's responsibility. They, along with the trustees, have been doing some work lately.... If you contacted them it would probably help move it to the top of the list, so to speak.

You may be able to have the graffiti removed if you complete and submit the form found here: http://www.ci.fitchburg.ma.us/forms/PublicSafetyGroupforms/Graf.pdf

RE: Sarah Alice Town Billings
I returned to Laurel Hill and have now uploaded some much better quality photographs.

I should tell you that the family lot is in danger of collapse. The granite slabs at the front (which are needed to keep the lot intact) are tipping and--judging by the recent collapse of other lots in the area--will likely fall within the next 6 to 18 months if not addressed sooner. The granite stairs have also shifted.

Also of note: a racial slur has been drawn onto one of the granite walls (probably with black marker). It has been there for several years.

As a descendant of the family, you are in the best position to request that these problems be addressed before irreparable harm is done.

Lastly, I added the approximate GPS location to the memorials.

Would you like me to transfer these memorials to you?

I added photos for the Town lot, which includes adding two memorials for additional family members. The photos I uploaded are not of the best quality. I will return when the weather permits (with a better camera) to retake photos.

Take care,

Bill
