Bio and Links
My parents were Hugh and Alice DesErmia. I was born and raised in Tecumseh, Michigan. After Tecumseh High School, I graduated from Ferris State College in 1977. I retired from General Motors Corportion in 2009. I have lived in Clinton, Michigan since 1982 and mowed grass at Riverside Cemetery in Clinton from 2010-2015.

Find-A-Grave's unstated policy allows a memorial's manager to have anything posted to "their" memorials removed. In the past few months, I have had two gravestone photos and two death certificates removed by FAG at a manager's request. In one instance, a manager refused to edit his memorial and has incorrect information posted. This doesn't help anyone. It takes too much time to find and post public documents and take gravestone photos to have them removed. Regretfully, I'm no longer posting anything to other people's memorials, with the exception of gravestone photos for Riverside and Franklin Township cemeteries. I will continue to help people looking for a birth, marriage, or death records/obituary in Lenawee Co., Michigan. Please email me if you would like my help. (8/19/15)

I have since noticed FAG has removed quite a few death certificates I posted to "my" memorials. No notification or explanation was ever given.

RE: Cynthia Harris Hurlbut (#108068660)
Brian,

My references for her are A Small Branch of The Hurlbut Tree by Verna Lee Hurlbut Carroll [1990], and The Hurlbut Genealogy by Henry Higgins Hurlbut [1888], page 291. The first source shows her the daughter of John & Betsy Harris and married to Jeremiah Hurlbut on 05 Jan 1820. The first source also shows her birth and death dates as shown on the memorial. Neither source mentions a Cynthia Harris Harris (memorial #84708182).

My wife's great-grandmother was Mary Ellen Hurlbut Tarvin, daughter of Deloss Bradley & Olive Patience Whaples Hurlbut. Her 3d great-grandparents were Jeremiah Hurlbut & his second wife Esther McIntyre. Jeremiah's first wife was Cynthia Harris.

Several years ago my wife's grandmother Osie Tarvin Gibson (memorial# 23931008) confirmed these findings as a she lived in Missouri very close to Deloss & Olive Hurlbut.

Your bio page
I hear your pain regarding people who will not at least hear your edit suggestions. It is also unfortunate that obits, or documents are being asked to be removed. After all, these people have passed on. I don't understand what is hurtfully to people, if it will help those left behind with medical issues, or finding loved ones. I'd like to know, what could be in my future or to watch for.

As volunteers we spend countless hours walking cemeteries, and researching those we find. I appreciate any and all work you have done and are doing. Don't be discouraged by others who don't. I love working with you. Your work is thorough, spot on and very valuable. Take care

RE: Luther Rexford
He is an ancestor of my daughter-in-law. I based the date on information from one of her relatives. I do not know what they based the information on. The other dates I had are from the US Census, and you are correct they have 1818, 1820 and 1817. So if you believe your date is more accurate please change it back.

WILLIAM MASON
Someone sent me the information on William Mason's parents, but I see that the bio of Julius Mason says his son William predeceased him, so I am changing his parents to match the information you sent. Thank you for the correction. Don
