George Oldham Sewell
Hi Kathy,

After retrieving my other camera and going through all the photos, I found 3 other photos of the Sewell burial site.

After a discussion with my partner who also took photos on Sunday we had come to conclusion that we must have overlooked George. We looked through the photos many times and could not find another headstone that had George Sewell.

That is when we both ask at the same time, "Why would Bethany have this large headstone that was enclosed and George's headstone not be there?" So we took a closer look at the headstone that I though was only Bethany's and we were pleasantly surprised to find that George's inscription with his birth and death dates was at the top of the headstone and Bethany's was at the bottom.

I am so glad that we were able to fulfill your request for your ancestor's headstones. I do appreciate your kind note.

KINDest regards,

Nancy Hickman

RE: Bethany Sewell
Hi Kathy,

I am still sifting through photos to see if we have George Sewell's headstone. I left one of my camera's in the truck we were in that took us out to the cemetery. I am meeting the owners today in Austin to get the camera. Hope I have photo, we took pics of every headstone we could find, will let you know.

I must tell you that it has taken me 3 years to finally get to the cemetery to take these photos. It is in the middle of a 114 acre ranch that changed ownership about 5 years ago and there is no way to get out to where it is without them. It is now a hunting ranch and the current owner does not live on the property. They are retired and are not out there but 4 times a year during deer hunting season with their current client(which no one is allowed on the property during that time).

I was able to finally arranged to get the photos by offering the hope that the photos we were able to take would help those that are searching for their ancestors. Seriously, the cemetery is so inaccessible, it took 2 1/2 hours to get to the cemetery with the use of a all terrain vehicle and a lot of walking. So as you can tell I will not be returning to it, even though I was able to leave in good stead with the owners.

KINDest regards,

Nancy Hickman

RE: Sewell in Sycamore Cemetery
According to the Sycamore Cemetery there is a photo taken of a headstone by a Michael Squires (?) & I messaged him as I have been through my files and cannot find it. Because it wasn't a long distance call I had made, I don't have a record of it either. Bear with me kiddo, we will get an answer. I will even try the genealogy society group in Gatesville as well for ya! Carolyn

I haven't been out to that cemetery. The map shows it is there where the Levita Cemetery is & that's not correct. Will be going out there if no rain, this week. Hope all is well with u & urs!

I was recently out in Levita at their cemetery but I didn't see a Sycamore, just Levita. I have their phone numbers so I will call and ask. Happy Huntin'

RE: Henry & Josie Brown
Thanks for providing the memorial number. Unfortunately, I don't have much on that family. Let me know if you'd like me to transfer the memorials to you as you are more closely related than I. :)
