|I have lived in Hunterdon Co. my entire life. The area is so rich with old information, and when I can scratch the surface to bring something new to life, I think it's pretty neat. The Sheets, and Sheats families in this line are of one But with bartering being the way of life in early days there were too many William's Joseph's and John's, so some changed the spelling to help with the book keeping in the local stores. So many people have been so helpful in the F.A.G family, to transfer their work over to me, and I also want to do the same. If I have any of your families that you would like to take over just ask.|

I would say the one on the stone is correct. I may have rotated the wheel on my mouse while on the date and not noticed it.

Sent you an e-mail.

Well I guess we are relatives. I have been doing research on the Sheets family (my grandmom is the daughter of Clark and Susan Sheets) from the time the two brothers landed in Philadelphia, pledging loyalty oaths to the King before they were allowed to leave the ship. One could write his name and one could not.
I have soome nice pictures of Marjorie Sheets Kent both as a young girl and then in more modern times. If you like, I can mail them to you. But, thank you for this information on this site.

I made the updates you asked for - I can transfer these over to you if you want. I just added those memorials a short time ago - how did you come across them?

Thanks for responding. I thought you may have been a direct descendant of Luetta's when I saw that your name was the same as her husband's. If you know of any of her family I would like to contact them. I live in NJ and I am trying to piece together a family history. I was in Hunterdon County this week and I wish I had visited the Round Valley Cemetery to have seen her grave. It is definitely high up on my to do list this fall.

I am curious if Luetta Sheats is relative of yours. If so do you have information on her Howell family. I am a relative of the Howell's of Morris and Hunterdon Counties and I am very curious of her family lineage.

|Dennis Sharp||Sharp Family|
Thanks for the additional information on John Sharp, Jr. and Agnes Bodine. Initial DNA does not support a close connection to William Sharp of Woodbridge. John Sharp I of Perth Amboy is thought by some to be a brother. Records, so far, do support our connection to John Sharp I. John Sharp II married Sarah Mathies, daughter of John. John Mathies was a close friend of Gabriel Steel, who married second a daughter of Thomas Gordon. It remains to be seen whether John Sharp III of Perth Amboy is John Sharp, Sr. of Amwell Township.
