Find A Grave Memorial# 130190158
My grandfather was Mike Belecz (1878-1948) and my mother was Laura Belecz Lyons (1914-1968. I have done considerable research on the Belecz family in the U.S. as well as Austria-Hungary and I would like to clarify some items mentioned on his memorial.
Would you like me to rewrite the memorial and send it to you, or simply add facts?

Thanks; I will send her a note.
Have a lovely Day;
|Michelle M England||RE: Altha|
Sorry for the delay; We are a military family in the middle of a station move with all the distractions that come with that. :)
My mother Carroll Lynn Brasher was raised by John and Cecile Kellner in Waddington with Myrdel) and I grew up calling Cecile Grandma. I still remember visits to her house so fondly. Altha always wanted to be called Nanna; Mom said she didn't like the idea of being a Grandma it made her feel old. I knew my Mom had two siblings; Myrdel (she liked to be called Francis; Myrdel was born with down syndrome; and John both older than my Mother. I didn't know of any other siblings; but Nanna had a interesting life for her time period and who knows. :)
My Mother said Altha headed to California when she was younger to become an Actress. I think I remember she was in a commercial or two. Don't hold me to that. I do have pictures of everyone if you are interested. They are still in boxes; so it might take some time.
I didn't know my Grandfather; Charles Brasher very well; I know we saw him once when I was very young. He was a school teacher in Trenton NJ at the time. I think his middle name starts with a C. I also think he was laid to rest in Basking Ridge NJ per this notation I found online awhile back; (Charles Brasher Birth: 22 Oct 1912; Death: Jul 1975 - Basking Ridge, Somerset, New Jersey, USA U.S., Social Security Death Index, 1935-2014) and his obit is archived in this library linked below. http://www.bernardsvillelibrary.org/obituary.pdf
I also found a lawsuit that Charles Brasher brought against the school board in the 70's. and my Mother said her Uncle was Rex Brasher; who has a few books on illustrations of birds. Rex is the author and artist. So I am not sure if he is Charles brother or uncle. But that is pretty much all I know about my Grandfather.
Sadly; My Mom passed away or she would have loved to share some time with you talking about family histories.
I always felt that for all the people Atha surrounded herself with; she led a very lonely life.
Please let me know if there is anything I can help with. I really appreciate all the work you have put into the remembrances of families past.

The gravestone photo you posted on the memorial for Virginia Belecz is one that I took in 2012. Apparently you copied it from a duplicate memorial which has since been deleted. Would you please remove it and I will add my picture myself. Thank you.

I have found two marriage certificates for David. Due to his middle name I feel confident the marriage certificates are in fact your family member. He married on February 10th 1871 in Halton County, Ontario Sarah Jane Mitchell and then on February 18th 1886 he married Mary Elizabeth Watson.
I hope this information if of help to you.
