Hold off on moving anything. Read the description on the Lutheran Cemetery at Osterberg site, it explains the problem. I have contacted Find A Grave about merging the Bedford Community Cemetery and St Peters Lutheran Cemetery (at Osterberg) as they are both the same place. I am going by the Archie Claar transcriptions circa 1930 published by the Blair Co Geanealogical Society. It shows the transcriptions before the road that divides the cemeteries existed and is pretty explicit about who is in what cemetery as well as the PA death certificates. Thanx, Sam Sill

RE: Joseph and Sophia Atkinson Gorgas
I would say with some certainty that the stone dates from the time of Sophia's daughter's time, not Sophia's. It could be a cenotaph, but why wouldn't Joseph's name be there too? It's an interesting question and I will let you know if I find anything out.

Joseph and Sophia Atkinson Gorgas
I was able to find some additional information this morning. They are the parents of General Josiah Gorgas. Also, there is a duplicate memorial for Sophia. The duplicate is #95312650 and there is a headstone picture for her in Massillon City Cemetery. Unless it is a cenotaph, she appears to have been buried there. Her daughter's family is in the same plot.

No I haven't, other than what I think is true. Thanks for your interest and response!

photo requests Union Center Cemetery
Bluebelles, I saw you had several photo requests for Union Center Cemetery. The cemetery is rather large and scattered. I have spent several hours locating relatives graves there even when I knew the general location. Do you have a location for the graves in your request? Otherwise, they will be difficult to find unless I just happen to stumble across them. Thanks.

RE: Photo
Your welcome. I only edit the name because that is the way it is on the stone. I guess they made a mistake when it was carved.

Please see Find a Grave Memorial # 80505265 for correct info for her death date and children, correct spelling of cemetery, etc. Yours is a duplicate of this earlier memorial. Thanks for correcting this.

John & Ettie Beegle email
John & Ettie Koontz Beegle are my family also. They are buried in the correct cemetery. Their obits state they were buried in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery (not the Pleasant Hills Church Cemetery) which is another name for the St. James Lutheran Cemetery. Please refer to Dutch Corner History Group ( which shows St. James Church Cemetery AKA Yellow Brick Church Cemetery & Pleasant Valley Cemetery. I have no idea about your memorials you refer to. I agree that we want our family records to be accurate. I hope I have cleared up this confusion. Thank you for contacting me. Happy New Year to you and your Family. Diane

Kahler family

I am wondering if you are related to the Kahlers? I see that you've created a lot of the memorials for them and that you are doing research, also.

If so, I would love to collaborate, if possible and you are willing!
