I have been doing genealogy as a hobby for 25 years and am gradually adding members of my family and others to Find A Grave, and/or adding personal photos from my collection and details to memorials which you wonderful folks have already added. I have Swedish ancestry and enjoy doing Swedish research in my spare time.|
Besides my family and its connections in the USA and Sweden, my other areas of focus are war and military cemeteries in Germany, and historical figures of the Hannover, Germany, area along with their families. And sometimes I just walk the rows. The purpose of my contributions to the Find A Grave website is to respectfully honor and help preserve the memories of those who have gone before us.
Please use the edit tab on each memorial page for suggestions, corrections or additions.
My grave photos are free to anyone for non-profit use, and it would be much appreciated if you gave credit to Find A Grave.
Thanks to everyone for your contributions and for so promptly filling requests! I will upgrade all memorials where photo requests of mine are fulfilled.

Hi Bob, I've just received notice that you've sponsored Beulah Anderson's Find A Grave memorial. Would you like this memorial transferred to you? Cheers, Charlet
|MBG||RE: James Major obit|
It can get tricky with records and gravestones, can't it? It's not uncommon for gravestones to have incorrect dates. Some stones were erected years after someone died so dates came from someone's memory or perhaps records incorrectly written or no longer legible. Below is the link to the newspaper account of James Major's death. The year of the newspaper is 1910 so I believe his death year is actually 1910 not 1912. The paper reports he was 80 which would make his birth year 1830.
Here is link to online death reference which shows death year as 1910 and approximates birth year as 1830.
Hope this helps. I like reading old obits to learn about someone's life especially so long ago.

|Sylvia H.||RE: August Iffland grave photo|
thank you for your kind message.
I think you are right with the dates in the first line. The first word is really hard to read even you are as close as possible at the grave.
The first word could be "Erneuert" = renewed. Iffland died 200 years ago but the brickwall is not original, part of it isn´t older than 10 years. So i think the plate says that the grave was renewed from time to time (and this just because it´s a honory grave). But it only shows the dates during the royal time in germany. I´m pretty sure it was renewed several times especially after the first and second world war.
But maybe the cemetery administration office can help with this. I will send them a mail with our question.
Greetings from Berlin! :-)
|Kåre Olsson||Sophia Goransson Johnson|
Hi, my name is Kåre Olsson, and I found this person and is wondering if I found the right one.
"My" Sophia has father Karl Gustaf Göransson and mother Carolina Holmgren.
Sophia is born in Allegany but went back to sweden about 1875. She came back to USA 1888 but I can´t find her until now (I hope)
So, is this "my" Sophia?
