I have been a genealogist since I was thirteen years old. I am currently in a graduate history program at Ball State University and I will be graduating in May 2013.
FindAGrave Philosophy I will not ever be a top contributor to FindAGrave for at least two reasons. First, managing thousands of memorials becomes unwieldy at a certain point and I want to make sure that I can transfer and update in a timely manor. Second, I know several prolific FindAGravers who have created thousands of memorials and then decided to stop participating in the community. Others create them with little concern for accuracy or the responsibility that comes along with maintaining someone's memorial. One particularly bothersome FindAGraver I ran into recently stated in her bio that she would not transfer or update her records. This type of attitude not only runs counter to the values espoused by this site, but also to logic and the golden rule.
A Note On Transfers Regardless of how closely you are related, I am very happy to transfer memorials when I am not related to the person in question. Even if I am related, if I don't have much to add, I will transfer the memorial to you if you promise to make substantial additions. This transfer policy is founded upon the belief that relatives have a much better chance of adding information and or finding relevant information about a person's life.
The surnames of the families that I am interested in and related to include:
Paternal - Aldridge, Anderson, Arnold, Bailey, Baldwin, Banks, Barkham, Booth, Boulware, Brockhaus, Brockhouse, Bynum, Cavenaugh, Coffer, Cooper, Darnaby, Douglas, Eller, Fane, Feraby, Fowler, Grimes, Hamner, Hampton, Hepburn, Hilton, Jasper, Jennings, Judd, Lang, Lansford, Lenghaus, Looney, Loyd, Lübben, Lumm, Mason, Mattorf, McNeal, McVeagh, Metcalfe, Milberry, Moore, Moore, Morris, Nipper, O'Brien, Owens, Padely, Parker, Patterson, Paul, Porter, Refern, Roach, Routh, Sargent, Schnieders, Sharp, Shelton, Smythe, Stephens, Talge, Taylor, Tranter, Veach, Watts, Westmorland, Wiley, Woods, and Yothers.
Maternal - Allis, Bates, Browne, Course, Cowper, Glover, Grace, Griffith, Hackett, Hawks, Holdrigde, King, Lawrence, Llewellyn, MacGreggor, Mooney, Murphy, O'Brien, Padley, Podlepchak, Podlepchek, Podlepczak, Pidlypchak, Pupczyk, Raywood, Russinik, Smead, Stoughton, Ward, Wells, Willcut,
I am also interested in the family of Daniel (1841 - ?) and Theresa Love (~1857 - ~1830?) and their son Roy Love (1890 - 4 December 1994) who I knew and remember fondly; the family of Otis Lee Roy Hiskey (4 November 1918 - 23 June 1999) and his son James Dale Hiskey (13 October 1942 - 7 February 1963), who was murdered at Fort Bragg, North Carolina at the age of 20; the family of Edward Segal? Craig from Indiana; and the Dennsion family that came to St. Louis, Missouri from Penrith, England.

 | King Family Hey, I'm not sure if I replied to you or not but I do not think that I'm related to any Kings from Massachusetts. The Kings in my tree are from the Bangor, Maine area in the early 1900s. That's the earliest that my father and I can trace them back to. We're limited in our research because of the state court house had a great fire in the early 1900s that destroyed a great number of vital records. We do share other surnames though.

 | RE: Noble Crain I am not related to Noble Crain. Feel free to post a picture on the memorial. Jan Waddell created this memorial. Jan is now deceased, so no one is managing the memorial. If you are related to Noble Crain, you might contact Find A Grave and ask that the memorial be transferred to you.
Regards, Rena Sue
