I am wondering if this George W. Burns is a
relative as I have a couple of questions about him.
I found a George W. enlistment record in Illinois and I'm trying to figure out if this was that George w. I am not related but I'm working on a book concerning our Civil War Heroes.
Any help appreciated.

I can supply photo plus others that may be of interest if you let me know where you're family tree is posted.

I have linked Leo Blume to his parents, Herman and Edna. Thanks for the information! I will be adding a little history to the memorial soon also. Are you a relative, by any chance?

Please feel to use the photo. Thank you for asking. However, I feel this site is for one and all alike.

Go right ahead and use the photo - don't worry about credit for it. If you'd like this, or any other, family memorials transferred to you, let me know.
Hope you had a lovely Thanksgiving!

First, yes I am a volunteer photographer. My time is consumed primarily in
photographing the old, fragmented, and underground stones. Because of the time
consuming cleaning method I use, that's about all I have time for during the warm
months. During the winter, I research the stones I have added, using history
books, online history, newspaper clipping etc. We all contribute in a different
way and you sure have the knack for research. I'm a retired biologist, so
naturally I prefer being outdoors, in any type of weather, the more extreme the
better, compared to sitting indoors behind a desk. I married a man who's idea of
a great weekend is catching up on all the newspapers, magazines, and books he
got behind on the week before. I wish I could get him interested in helping
me!!! I feel your right on with the 'Johannes' so I have added your finding to
the site giving you credit. Have a great Thanksgiving and try to limit yourself
to three pieces of pie. It's going to be hard for me! Cheryl

You are more than welcome to use any pictures that I have on Find-A-Grave. You do not need to give credit to me for taking them.
I post the pictures in hopes that family members such as yourself find and are able to use them.
If I can do anything to help you please do not hesitate to reach out.

Lisa, I'm not related but have done some research in the for of the 'New Vienna History' book. I re-read the article and found I did copy the names correctly. The one person who could clear up this mystery died just a few months ago. His name was Laverne "Toby" Bockenstedt. I'm sure he, with the help of others complied this information. I'll try to get up to New Vienna next week, and visit the museum, a person plays hit and miss as to when it's open, and I'll see if anyone else can clear this up. In the mean time I'll add your notation. Cheryl
