MOTHER OF TWELVE CHILDREN ( my wife's grandmother): MINTY SMITH SALYERS # 97056976 - LIFE & DEATH, IT'S VERY SIMPLE: A drop of water falls from the sky on a seed that germinates. It seemingly makes something out of nothing. Actually it is the KEY to life it'self. When a seed of thought (God's Word) drops down from the mind into the inner core of mankind; his existence is brought to life and a genuine revolution takes place. Within the seed is direction, knowledge, wisdom, confidence, right standing with God, and most importantly peace in such a troubled world. That's why Jesus said, "Come unto me all you that labor and I will give you rest." A HEADSTONE ONCE READ: An Atheist said I got all dressed up with no where to go. That's what Jesus gives is life more abundantly. God doesn't ask us to understand him, just believe him. "I AM THE RESURRECTION AND THE LIFE." ******* I always have had an interest in history & people. It was not until I went into partial retirement with Security Forces Inc. that I've undertaken of searching and finding those who have gone before us. In my past I pastored for about 10 years plus taught Sunday School for 15 Years. I was an insurance agent for ten years working in Nash, Edgecombe, and Wilson counties.I Pastored in Wayne, Johnston, and Nash Counties of North Carolina. I'm enjoying life with my sweetheart wife,Barbara, a beautiful daughter,Ciji, & grandaughter Cara. Jesus is my Lord and soon coming King. It is great to have purpose in each day. GO TEBOW,= " YOU MUST BE BORN AGAIN". ACCORDING TO THE WORD, THE CHRISTIAN WILL RISE AGAIN FROM THE GRAVE IN A SPIRITUAL BODY; FOR THE NEXT GREAT EVENT: TO RULE & REIGN ON THE EARTH FOR ONE THOUSAND YEARS. | |

 | RE: Godwin's proper burial The cemetary doesn't have a name. It is the little wooden church between Harvey's house and the L&L on the Red Oak Rd. There are some other graves at the church that are listed in the same cemetary on Exum Rd.(Pittman family cemetary) really a new cemetary needs to be set up for those to be moved to. I have pictures of the church just haven't had time to get it started. I really spend more time on this in the spring and summer when my work load is lighter. Would be glad to add the pictures of the graves I took there at the church or send you a list of the graves that I found there. It is less than a mile from Harvey's. I believe the land was given by the Rose family to be used only for a church. Let me know if I can help. | | | Paula M Brown

 | Minerva Askew Bill I believe I found Minerva in a 1900 census living in Plymouth Township, Washington County, NC. Husband is Charly W. Askew born Sep 1830 NC. Minerva is spelled "Manavia," born Dec 1833, NC. According to a family tree he died 1905. Perhaps she relocated after that to be nearer to family. | | | Doris Mergenthaler
 | RE: Mattie, Sarah Jackson Hi Bill, Yes, I am the daughter of Mattie Allen Jackson. Sarah Jackson was my step mother, whom we all loved. I was born and raised in Rocky Mount, but have been living other places since 1949, when I got married. I have recently found out the existence of Find a Grave. I think it is wonderful that it exists. I don't get back there much, and seeing a Grave marker with my loved ones names in a picture makes me feel good. . . Thank you for the wonderful service you do.
Bless you, Doris
P.S. My Dad and sister are there too. | | | dwight watson
