Susan -

I am aware of Jasper's service record and certain honors that he received, as well as the circumstances of his death.

Thanks.

James & Ada Scaggs
The links have been made between Stonewall and his parents, James and Ada; but if it wouldn't be too much trouble, could you go to Ada's memorial and enter her Maiden name as DINGESS? She was born Ada (or Etta) Dingess and her parents were Peter C. Dingess and Jane "Jennie" Adams. James M. Scaggs' father was Joseph Scaggs and James' mother was Nancy Ann Hinchman and I remember these names from my own ancestry research. As it turns out, James and my Great-Great Grandfather, Will Scaggs, were brothers and then Will and James both married sisters, my Great-Great Grandmother, Mary (Dingess) Scaggs was Ada (Dingess) Scaggs' sister. So My Great-Great Grandparents, Will & Mary (Dingess) Scaggs and James M. & Ada (Dingess) Scaggs were in-laws anyhow. So it turns out the closest relatives Stonewall & Leanzia had to anybody on Scaggs Cemetery was my Great-Great Grandparents, Will & Mary (Dingess) Scaggs, which would have been the uncle and aunt of George Stonewall Scaggs. It's still difficult to believe that connection is the motivation of Stonewall & Leanzia to be buried at Scaggs Cemetery instead of buried closer to their immediate family.

Stonewall & Leanzia (Lowe) Scaggs
Are you related somehow to Stonewall Scaggs or his wife Leanzia (Lowe)? I have tried to find someone that is somehow relevant to them because over a year ago when I found they had at least one small child buried at the cemetery at the mouth of Godby Branch by 1929, I had wondered more about why they buried their family there and yet Stonewall & Leanzia are buried on my family cemetery, Scaggs Cemetery, at the mouth of Caney Branch. I never understood why they are buried there without any of their immediate family. Stonewall and Leanzia didn't have any tombstones for decades, only funeral home stakes marked their graves, and then after all of those decades a companion tombstone for them appeared in the late 1990's. The reasons they chose Scaggs Cemetery rather than plots with their immediate family in the other cemetery still baffles me. I can never find anyone within my relatives of the Scaggs family that really knew Stonewall or Leanzia. When the Tombstone appeared, so did a rosebush planted on Leanzia's grave and now it is so large and taken so much space that nobody could decorate the graves if they wanted to and nobody has in years. There are some mysteries to me about them and I hope I learn more about them.

SCAGGS
When I was clicking the links, they were originally taking me to different people's memorials who had completely different names, different locations, the bio would talk about their parents and they were different names and I was confused. There was obviously a problem with the website or something because the links took me to completely irrelevant people. I apologize and I don't know why it was happening and I'm still confused as to why the website was taking me to completely irrelevant people's memorials in weird states. I'm sorry.

The links you provided to link Stonewall Scaggs & wife Leanzia are not a match. I wonder how that happened?
