Maggie, In 2004, I met Mr. Benjamin "Ben" Griffith who is the current owner of Mead and Henrietta E. (Smith) LeSueur's home. It was relocated to Zebulon Rd (off Shi Rd), Monroe County on approx. 2000 acres. He took us thu the house and he has added on additional rooms to the back of the house (both the down and up stairs). Maybe, I have mentioned to you about this before. Going down the same road for several miles (going toward Macon, GA) is the Hephzibah Children's Home. Which was founded by Elizabeth "Bettie" Tyler, the niece of my Gr-Gr grandmother, Louisa Eleanor "Ellen" Tyler (m. Andrew Jackson "Jack" LeSueur). The Tyler's home place was moved to the childrens home and have incl. a photo of the house (f.a.g.).

LeSueur Reunion ~ 2015
Maggie, Should I hear of anything further, I'll keep you posted. I was in the 90's before her father passed way that they had family reunion/birthday party in Besmear, AL. When Mary came to visit we made a trip to see Mead and Henrietta E. (Smith) LeSueur's beautiful home place (before it was relocated) and Samuel David and Mary Logan (Jeffries) LeSueur, Sr., Main St., Madison, Morgan Co., GA. They are closely related to Mary Nell LeSueur.

LeSueur Reunion ~ 2015
Maggie, Was contacted by Mary Nell LeSueur (Houston, TX) last week about having a LeSueur reunion in AL (nr. Birmingham) in 2015. She is descended from James LeSueur (s/o Samuel and Martha (Bryant) LeSueur, Sr.) and Nancy Stinson (d/o Alexander and Ann (Baker) Stinson, Jr.). Lincoln Co., GA. In '98, Mary came to visit with us back in '98. Look forward to hearing from you!

Christopher Wilson
Thanks Maggie, but that Christopher is the wrong one. My great uncle was born in Missouri in 1866 and died in Clark county Washington in 1934. There are several men named Christopher Columbus Wilson! 3 in my family but not the one you found. Thanks so much for trying. I was just trying to figure out the connection to Myrtle because I found her in the census with C.C. and then found the newspaper article about the adoption. It is a mystery that may not be solved!

Thanks for your help!

Myrtle Thorsen Schutte
Hi Maggie,

I am interested because C.C. (Christopher Columbus) Wilson is my great uncle.

The 1910 Chehalis (Grays's Harbor) County census list Christopher Columbus (C. C.) as a widower, age 43, born in Missouri. Living with him are Bertha (niece), age 11, and Myrtle Thorson, (niece), age 13. His wife's name was Minnie. His occupation is listed as shingler. He rents his home. He appears to have no children of his own. Bertha is the daughter of his deceased brother Grant Wilson.

Also from the Aberdeen Herald on Thursday, June 22, 1905 in Superior Court article states that Myrtle "Thorenson" was declared legally adopted by C.C. Wilson.

I am trying to solve a curious mystery involving my grandmother's brother. Any help is most appreciated.
