I haven't looked yet. I was just explaining why the memorial had no dates. I will search for the headstone Saturday afternoon.

The contributor who created the memorial used information from the Orange County Cemetery District database. In this case, the database states the name and location of the deceased but provides no dates. If there is a headstone, that should give us additional information to update the memorial.

RE: Green Lynch
I found the photo on I had been researching my own Lynch folks and came across the photo. Green had similar places of residence and he looked startlingly similar to pictures of my grandfather (who was born in 1913).
I saved the picture and started a tree for Green to see if I could find any connections. Tomorrow I'll check Ancestry to find the original contributor. If you'd like, please reply with your email address and I'll let you know what I have found about Green and if I can reach the original poster of the photo.

2 links that might be of interest:

The VA has a form to be submitted. Do you have his service records?

I can confirm for you that that Stilwell Cemetery indeed used to be called "New Hope" and that would have definitely been the case in 1893.
If you are able to order a marker, I will be happy to facilitate its installation, on site.

Thanks, I got the ledger. The City Clerk emailed me a TIF file with notations on a list I left for her, so haven't actually talked to her yet. The note said to check Section 2, Lot 106 as a "possible.' That grave would be in fact be in the older part of the cemetery, and this would have been called New Hope Cemetery in 1893, so I think we have a chance. I will get down there late next week and let you know.

RE: Thank you for Grave Photo
Thank You , but I can't take credit for the photos. I do research on older cemeteries, and The Saylor Hill Cemetery was one of My interests. These pictures were taken by descendants of the Seiler/Saylor Family who had cleaned up and are trying to restore the cemetery. This was all part of their work. Here's the link to the site.
