Benjamin Baker memorial
Oops...looks like I sent my last message twice. Sorry. I wanted to ask you if you want me to transfer Benjamin Baker's memorial page to you? It would be my pleasure...

RE: Letter sent during the war
Very, VERY cool! Definitely a valuable piece of family history! Personally, I have two letters written by Major William Shaw of the 38th Indiana, which are neat, but there is always something a little more meaningful when they relate to a family ancestor like your letter does. I'd love to read it if you ever get a chance to transcribe it.

Samuel's wife and Samuel's grave
Take a look at Elizabeth Berryhill's memorial on here. http://goo.gl/5ic5G

She's the right age. She is buried in the same cemetery with Samuel's family. Samuel and Elizabeth were living in that county in 1900.

Here are all the Berryhill's buried at Sumner cemetery. Notice Samuel is there, listed as S T Berryhill. That explains why I couldn't find him in the Florida cemetery.

There is another person working on Berryhills here. Here's Pvt Kenneth Stanley Berryhill' memorial. He's linked to other family members.

Josephene Minnie Berryhill
I see Samuel's daughter listed here on findagrave.

Minnie J Culver http://goo.gl/9i1kM

I'm guessing Alfred is her husband since they have the same plot info and he is about the same age.

Here he is in the FL death index. Must have remarried? http://goo.gl/lZJtF

If you ever need FL death certificates, they are just $5. Here's the form: http://goo.gl/AjQOv

Good luck, Greg

Samuel Lee Berryhill
You're welcome.

A volunteer group surveyed the old part of the cemetery about 1995 and cross referenced their findings against known records. Samuel was not listed in the book they published. Another group did the same years later for the newer part of the cemetery. Samuel was not listed in their book, either.

The Clearwater Sun Times started publishing in 1914 so it's possible there might be a mention about his death.

Samuel Lee Berryhill headstone photo request
I walked the cemetery and could not find Samuel's headstone. I checked a book that lists the burials there and Samuel was not listed. His grave must be unmarked. I believe there were some wooden headstones in the early years that have disintegrated with time.

I sent for his death record and it definitely says he was buried there. I uploaded the document and added it to his memorial. You probably received a notice that your photo request has been fulfilled but it was just the death record image I added to his memorial. Click on it several times to bring up the large image. I was hoping it might say who his parents were.

You might check with the Clearwater library for an obit. It looks like they are going to put the archive online in the fall.

Good luck with your research,

Miller Family Cemetery
Hi There! By any chance, do you remember where the Miller Family Cemetery was in Edwards County, IL? I would like to visit the cemetery in a couple of weeks, and am wondering if it will be close to where I am already planning on visiting. THANK YOU SO MUCH.
