Former art teacher for 1st through 12 students. Now work at West Nebraska Family Research and History Center in Scottsbluff, NE 69341. My Mother left me lots of notes about her family and my Dad's family and when I finally got bitten by the bug, I was off and running. If am at a standstill with my family, I love finding family members and information for other families.

RE: Henry Dalton
Thanks for your help. I think you're probably right, and that could make sense. I've got other pictures from about the same time frame and the other couple is probably Samuel and Eliza Hackett. Thanks again for taking a look.

No apology necessary. I wish you could see this stone. It is massive, which is probably why it survived all those years.

Hi there, Judy,

This stone is one of few that remains from the Hickory Grove Cemetery, which was located across from the Historical Society. It matches the following Jersey County burial records:

HUTCHINSON, J. G., Hickory Grove, Jersey, 1846

I wouldn't get too hung up on the spelling of stones of this age.

RE: Henry Dalton
Sorry, I forgot to say that I do not know about Jarrot Cox. Haven't run across that name, however my ties are to the Dalton "gang" from Edgar, NE and Nevada, MO. I'm from Michigan, but will keep an eye out for that name as I'm going through family records.
Thanks again

RE: Henry Dalton
Thanks for getting back to me. Yes, Clara (Reineke) Dalton was my great grandfather's second wife and I have it recorded that she's buried in Colorado with her family. I think that they were both from Illinois when they were younger and may have known each other from that time? I appreciate knowing anything about her as I have very little information but do have some letters she had written.
Thanks again

Wm. Henry Dalton picture
I'm writing about a picture you posted of Judge Wm. Henry Dalton, his wife, Clara (Callie) and another couple. This is in relation to a grave at Deepwood Cemetary in Nevada, MO. Wm Henry Dalton is my great grandfather and Callie his second wife. I'm curious about the other couple as it resembles by other great grandparents Thomas and Emma (Moore) Hackett. If you've got any other information about this picture, I'd appreciate knowing. Thanks!

Hi Judith,

It is good to meet you. My parents stay in contact with Bill, so I will check with them. Do you use Ancestry.com at all? I have a public tree and the ability to read private messages there as well.

Best,

Peter

Karoline Graf Widmaier photo
Thanks for posting the photo of Theodore and Karoline Graf to Karoline's memorial page. I am in the midst of developing my family tree in earnest, and this is great to have. Her daughter Emilia Pauline Widmaier was the mother of my father's father, Herman Harle, and I don't have many older photos of this branch of my family.

Best,

- Peter Harle
