There are over 14,000 graves out there. It is a large cemetery about 140 years old. Your graves are in a nice section. Go in the main gate, turn right at the T junction and it is the first section at the first left turn. There are a lot of historic graves out there: General James Longstreet of CSA fame, the man who fired the canon (1 n or two?) at Fort Sumpter, a circus performer named Milly Vortex etc. The Walker family plot close to your people has a little doghouse type monument to two 9 year old girls who died in 1895 a month apart. Ella's inscription says: Four feet trod the streets of gold/Four little hands the angels hold/ Two little lips lisp the new found song/ Two little angels in the angels' throng. Her sister, Lleta, has: God knows best whom to take/ God knows best whom to leave below/ Blest be the name of our God we say/ Blest when he gives/ Blest when he takes away. I cleaned that one and discovered it was two little girls and got the the inscriptions copied down before the monument started wearing down. The inscriptions are usually the first to go since they are not cut as deep in the stone. Anyway if you need more people just let me know. I would be happy to do. Live 2 miles from the cemetery. N

I got your photographs today. I will post two of each marker. One is the condition in which I found it and the second one the markers with a little cleaning. The lettering has faded and they are dirty but legible. I may not get them posted until tomorrow night.N
