Otho Allensworth

First of all, I want to thank you for taking a photo of his gravestone. I am wondering, if you aren't related to him, if you would consider transferring his memorial to me? He is my great Uncle and his parents Elera and Lottie Mae Allensworth are my gr gr grandparents.

Thank you,

Michelle Allensworth Pendleton

RE: Jennie Belle
I see you live in North Carolina! We fly into Wilmington when we come out to Myrtle Beach (twice a year). We are out here right now, leaving on Saturday .... we own #502 in BayView On The Boardwalk. This Fall we will drive out for a week. The weather hasn't cooperated this week so looking forward to the next time at the beach!
I will add that to Jennie's memorial - good idea!

RE: Jennie Belle Barnhill Lewis
Thanks for your posting re: Jennie Belle Barnhill Lewis. She was my great-grandmother. It is in the family records that she died on Dec 21, 1939 of Parkinson's disease. There is no doubt that this date is absolute and therefore, the 1940 census is incorrect.
My dad was raised by Jennie and John (his maternal grandparents). He attended Jennie's funeral on Dec 28th, 1939 when he was 26 yrs old. He told me many times how cold it was the day they buried her right after Christmas.
So I guess the census can't always be trusted.
