RE: Photo added
Hi Linda, thx for your kind words. Glad to assist finding Shel Shep. A few days later, while at Hebrew Sick Benefit cemetary, I came across Seina stara Bereskin, 162674043, not sure if related, but the name caught my eye and thought I'd share with you. Cheers, Jim

RE: Simon Wolf
Linda, Thank you for the information. I'm quite certain that my Simon died in Frankfurt just before Justina and Katherine came to Syracuse. I am a bit confused by the Syracuse directories which sometimes list Justina as widow of Simon and other time show her as widow of Moses. Perhaps Moses was a middle name. There is a Louis Wolf in the directories who was a tailor on Warren Street and lived on Almond. That wouldn't be far from my great grandmother's home. There were two Simons in Syracuse at that time period, one a laborer and the other a ringer.

If I find any evidence that Simon was in Syracuse or if he had other relatives there, I will let you know.

RE: Simon Wolf
Linda, sorry I called you Kelly earlier. I confused the names.

I am also following the path of Kate Kelly Lloyd of Syracuse, an Irish relative. Any idea if she is in your tree? I have more on her family from the 1870's.

RE: Simon Wolf
Kelly,
i am also curious to know more about my Simon Wolf. I do not believe he came to Syracuse with Justina and their daughter, Katherine. I have his death as:15 Jul 1875 • Frankfurt (Main), Hessen-Nassau, Preußen, Germany. This came from Ancestry.com, a global search. I do know he was not at St. Joseph's cemetery with Justina as I have searched those records thoroughly. I suspect when he died, they came to the US. I have pursued other relatives for them and believe there was some reason that brought them to Syracuse but I have not been able to confirm anyone yet. If you ever discover the link, I'd love to know. I see your name is Wolfe. Do you believe you may be related to this family? BTW- Katherine married Frederick Maurer in Syracuse fairly soon after her arrival and he is also from Frankfurt so that may indeed be the connection to Syracuse.

RE: Thanks
Glad I could help.

I can speed the process along for you. The Hebrew inscription says: Here Lies Shifra Chasha daughter of Shabtai, died 12 MarCheshvan 5715, May her soul be bound up in the bond of eternal life.
