 | Sgt Clifford A. Aldridge
Sgt Clifford A. Aldridge was a soldier of Company A 180th Infantry Regiment 45th Infantry Division, participating in the invasion of Sicily in July 1943 (operation Husky). He was killed on 14 July 1943. he was first buried in the small 180th Regimental cemetery # 2 on 15 July 1943. About two weeks later his remains were exhumed and reburied in the temporary American Cemetery GELA in plot-grave E-54-641.
After the war his remains were repatriated and buried in a cemetery in the United States.
I am writing a book about the temporary cemetery GELA, and also want to include the picture you took of his grave, of course you will be credited. You will be notified when the book will be finished next year.
If you are related, perhaps you may have information/documentation or his picture, any information is more than welcome
