My interest in genealogy and family history was sparked when a cousin started putting together the little we knew about the history of our family in this country not long after my grandmother passed away. My grandmother was the last of her generation so many of the stories and much of the knowledge about the "old country" was lost when she passed away. My cousin passed away a few years ago and I've been trying to piece things together utilizing Ancestry, Find A Grave, Family Search, and other sources available online. Thankfully, our local library has been a wonderful resource for my research since so much of our family has remained in the same area for several generations now. My primary families are COTTRELL, HALL, HANDICK, HOFF, HULL, IPPEN, MARTIN, & WILSON, but of course there are others as well with all the various collateral lines. The geographical primary area is west-central Indiana.

Patrick J.(John?)Dunning
Hello ma'am. I was hoping maybe you could help me put some puzzle piece together. My father has dementia so he can remember a lot but not our family heritage. My birth name is Michelle Brooke Dunning, Daughter of Jeffery Kent Dunning whom is son of John Keith Dunning (and Carolyn Sue Readinger), John Keith Dunning's father was John Patrick Dunning (Thelma McIntyre) and I believe John Patrick Dunning is the son of Patrick J. Dunning whom I don't know his wife's name or anything else about him besides I am a descendent and he died in the Sullivan Mine Explosion 1925. Thank you kindly.

RE: Thank you!
Joann....your thank you is very much appreciated. When I create a memorial, I know the person will be remembered and I hope that along the way it will help someone in their family history research.

Thank you for the information. I don't belong to the Ancestry site anymore. Things got confusing for me on this. After my Mother's death I found a picture behind another picture, two different women with the same name wrote on the back of each. Della M Medley(Heyen)was my Grandmother on my Mother side. My Mother had told me that her Mother's, Mother was and Indian baby left on the door step. Left with a dead-end on this, only know that the Tribe in the area was called Kickapoo Tribe. I have a picture of the three, my Mother as a baby, my Grandmother and Great grandmother. Great grandmother looks like a full blooded Indian. And Ude was a full blooded German, my Great grandfather. I stopped Ancestry after my Mother's passing(Laura Jean Medley)Clark, pictures, etc... made me cry, so I closed the door on all of it. Did find many living family members :) Thank you for your help on Find A Grave Fran

RE: John Lemen memorial
How may I help you regarding the John Lemen, Sr. memorial.
It was one of many I added to Memorial Chapel after my visit Memorial Day weekend last year. He is no relation.
