Leslie. I had answered your photo request and haven't forgotten about you. If you can provide me an email I will forward to you the last I received from a fellow who is familiar with the cemetery. You can than work directly with him. Ross
|Kathy Merris Mills||RE: Stanley cemetery|
Happy to do it for you. Maybe this coming week we can find out who owns the land now and get permission to walk in and take photos. L.V. knows Stanley relatives who live in the area still.

My boyfriend is L.V. Wood, his father was Howard Wood and his mother was Eliza Stanley Wood. Her father was Elmer Stanley. L.V. knows the cemetery you are talking about but hasn't been there in over 40 yrs and I'm not sure that the owner will give us permission to go in, but if they will, when it gets a little colder and the snakes are gone...L.V. will take me over there so I can get all of the pictures.
If he can come up with anything to help you on the Stanleys, he will try. Please let us know what you need. L.V. wants to know what your husband's name is. Thanks, Kathy & L.V.

Leslie. I received an email today from the custodian of the cemetery. He indicated to me that he would walk the cemetery and get back with me. He is hoping to create a web site for the cemetery. I would probably cancel the photo request. I will get back with you upon response.
|BRADLEY INGELS||William B Jenkins, Caldwell County|

Not so good news for ya. The James Madison Museum is next door to the cemetery. In the past there was a person there who had information in reference to the cemetery. I did not make an attempt to walk the cemetery. Many of the stones there you can not read. I will try and get in touch with the Masonic Lodge and also contact the historian at the library to see if I can find someone who has knowledge of the cemetery. The reason the Museum had some data is that the fellow who worked there was a Mason so apparently he had the records. Where they have gone I do not know but I will try to find out for you. Ross
Please contact me about Emmanuel Cemetery Pictures.

|Andrew Dewees||Jenkins at Martha Chapel Cemetery, Walker CO TX|
I searched the entire cemetery for w/o S. M. Jenkins. This is an old cemetery with no recent burials. Many stones are broken, and some have been knocked down. I found no marker stones with the name Jenkins. I have photos showing the poor condition of this cemetery. I would be glad to send these to you by email. Of course I would need your email address to do so.
The Walker Co Genealogical Society lists graves in all the county cemeteries on their website, and has a listing of seven Jenkins in Martha Chapel Cemetery. One of these is Sarah Ann Jenkins w/o S.M.D. Jenkins Age 39 yrs 5 mo. 16 May 1859. You can see this at: http://www.wcgen.com/WCSoCem.pdf
If you would like to receive my photos, let me know.
|Carol Crawford||Jenkins - Ferncliff|
there are 3 Jenkins with no dates and no first names listed in Ferncliff - 2 of them are WWI monuments - those I will photograph and post the 3rd is in Sec Big Z lot 6 row A12 space 29 and is unmarked. I will take a picture of the lot and see if the cemetery office has more info. As I post the info pls send a request to update the memorial to Rob Weller. He will only accept requests from family.
|Rick France||Mrs. Jenkins at Crown Hill Cemetery|
I posted a photo of the area of the unmarked grave for Mrs. Jenkins. There are few marked graves and few legible markers in Section NG. I determined the location determined by approximating distance from nearby legible markers. GPS for this area: 39.81788, 86.17714. Sorry there isn't better news.
